About the team:
Tax Analyst prepares Tax returns and other financial and statistical reports based on given checklists and task notes, keeping deadlines and aligning with market legislation and regulatory requirements. Tax Analyst supports other Tax members by preparing statutory returns, analysis and replying to ad-hoc queries and chips in with ideas.
About the role:
Ensure tax legislation and Diageo global standards are closely followed and correctly applied across Diageo teams, guarantee processes and systems are aligned to Tax and Statutory requirements to get in compliance with Tax Authorities doing the right things the right way.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare Direct Tax Returns for the markets under their responsibility including the execution of process improvements and handling the direct tax risk agenda for the relevant markets.
- Maintain framework for tax compliance & reporting, be up to date on tax law changes and communicate proactive and optimally to other teams to ensure processes performed follow the local legislation.
- Understands and promotes Diageo's tax policy including direct taxes, transfer pricing, corporate tax, and the importance of intercompany accounting. Applies commercial insight to assess feasibility of new projects and business-related activities.
- Builds great relationships with internal and external collaborators, to mention some: GDBS cross-functional teams, Diageo markets, Group Tax, Tax advisors, Tax authorities, Auditors.
- Participate and chip in to month-end close timetable activities planned to ensure completeness and accuracy of Financial Statements necvitalr Tax reports.
- Keep Process Documentation and Tax Calendar are actualized and accurate.
- Prepare and Review the Monthly Reconciliation Process Documentation in Blackline.
- Support the Tax Coordinator and Tax Lead in developing tax strategies, policies, standards, guidelines for tax management and drive adoption of, and adherence to, policies and standards.
- Keep up to date with tax law changes and standard methodology; identify tax risks and opportunities and recommend actions.
- Provide support on tax audits and tax enquiries.
Experience / skills required:
- Accounting Degree or equivalent experience with preference in Tax Specialization
- Preference experiences a global multinational or a tax advisory firm (Big 4).
- Experience of providing domestic and cross border tax technical advice
- Good team working and communication skills across diverse cultures.
- At least 1 year of tax experience
- Tax compliance, monthly close activities, balance sheet review and taxes advisory.
- Tax compliance preparation and reporting to Tax Authorities, Tax reporting to Headquarters, Tax planning, Transfer Price support documentation readiness and review with Auditors and consultants.
- English Level intermediate (Speak and writing) B2
- Analytical skills and problem solving oriented
- Critical thinking and prioritization
- Accounting systems: SAP (preferable), AS400, Oracle, others
- Attention to detail and organized
