Purpose of Position

The main purpose of the Supply Project Manager is to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of key projects that drive the company's growth and competitiveness. We are looking for an individual that adapts to the complexity of every day. This role involves the efficient coordination of multidisciplinary teams to meet the company's strategic business projects, such as new product launches, market renovations, process optimization, and/or with Third Party Operation partners. The SPM ensures that projects stay within established timelines, budgets, and quality and regulatory standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact project execution.

The SPM is encouraged to make strategic, tactical, and operational decisions that ensure not only the successful execution of projects but also contribute to the overall success of the company within the alcoholic beverage industry. These decisions should be based on data analysis, risk evaluation, and a consideration of both short- and long-term impacts.

Recommendations Expected

Provide strategic and operational recommendations like processes and methodology optimization, risk mitigation recommendations, supply chain improvements, cost optimization according to the process, anticipating regulatory compliance and/or challenges in projects.

Financial Accountability (Budget/Revenue)

Must ensure projects are kept within budget

Work closely with other departments, such as finance and procurement, to ensure that projects align with the company's overall financial goals

Market / Function Complexity
  • Handles programs in Innovation and Brand Change to support new to world growth, brand redesign initiatives, innovations, renovations, Supply productivity agenda and/or Third Party Operation (TPO) projects.
  • Project Budget management, from creation, tracking, implementation to closing project within forecasted expenses.
  • Work with local and global suppliers always looking for the best sourcing strategy in line with procurement recommendation.
  • Handles new RTD projects from idea scoping and product development to Commercialization and Launch to market working and influencing the TPO partner closing project withing the timeline.
  • Being part of TPOs monthly critical metrics review and evaluation with inputs of TPO performance for new and existing products.
  • Manages fully the Supply Productivity agenda from ideation sessions to implementation and follow-up on in reporting progress of associated projects through Diageo Mexico platform.
  • Robust P&L understanding, being able to support financial conversation to reduce main offenders of COGS and looking to improve Gross Margin.
  • The role specifically delivers wide ranging deep technical support to have conversation with Suppliers and Operations.
  • Risk management capabilities needed to generate robust technical assessment for every project.
  • Provides creative solutions to commercialization challenges within complex timelines.
  • Builds great relationships within partners in Supply, Demand, Data, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Innovation and Marketing to deliver Innovation/Renovation Pipeline.
  • Assertive communication with partners, participating in monthly S&OP´s for local market and with categories and in weekly forums, providing individual oversight from low to high complexity programs.
  • Applies strong project management skills to develop and lead project timelines, addresses technical and resourcing challenges, and ensures risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and implemented for each project.
  • Conducts the technical development/due diligence of packaging components, inclusive of creation/routing/approval of any/all package specifications.
  • Consistently demonstrates living Diageo dial-up behaviors, focuses on finding viable, sustainable supply chain solutions, and develops trusting relationships across the organization.

  • Projects completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, resources and suppliers.
  • Identify, handle, and bring up risks throughout the project lifecycle

  • Foster collaboration between departments to meet project objectives.
  • Lead activities across various areas to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Promote communication within the team and strategic alignment with key partners.

  • Anticipate potential issues.
  • Identify potential risks at each project stage.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Resolve issues quickly as they arise, ensuring the project stays on track.
  • Be proactive in addressing unforeseen problems.


Regulatory Compliance and Quality Standards Management

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations affecting the product, processes, and projects.

Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to obtain necessary approvals.

Ensure internal audits are conducted as needed.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Qualifications
  • University degree required in Food Chemistry, Chemical or Food Engineering or equivalent area
  • A Master's degree in Project Management (PMP or similar), MBA, or others is a plus
  • Knowledge of MS Project, creating and handling timelines.
  • Knowledge of primary package design, liquid development, and manufacturing processes and procedures is desirable.


Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in production processes (preferably in the beverage/alcohol business or CPG companies), product commercialization and/or project management is desirable.
  • Experience in handling multidisciplinary projects with large internal and/or external teams
