Salary of £50,131.10 including Shift allowance and a competitive benefits package consisting of pension, shares scheme and bonus!

Our team at Royal Lochnagar Distillery have great pride in following age old traditions and have the finest craftmanship to produce one of Scotland's most well known and best-in-class whiskies. Situated near the River Dee in the historic town of Balmoral this Distillery is the flawless mix of tradition and innovation!

About the role

The purpose of our Senior Operators is to provide operational, continuous improvement, autonomous maintenance and quality skills. You will relentlessly observe and work to standards in area, whilst being able to work at your own initiative and as a standout colleague. You will work closely with your team mates to ensure effective handovers and collaboration.

Key points you would be responsible for are:

  • Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost and asset care.


  • Maintain a safe and supported working area


  • Work passionately to reduce and eliminate waste as part of Diageo's Sustainability efforts


  • Operate machine or plant processes following defined standard operating procedures


  • Drive performance of the equipment on a line or process area - RCA, SIC, Op led Asset Care, DT recording (tagging), hygiene standards


  • Delivery of Diageo Health & Safety commitments




Ultimately, being a source of advice, knowledge, and having the confidence to lead operations is the pinnacle of the day to day ways of working in this exciting role.

Working hours will include Night-shift (10pm- 6am), Early Shift (6am - 2pm) and Back shift (2pm - 10pm)

About You

Do you have a passion for delivering high standards? To think on your feet and make fast paced decisions? If so, this role may just have the new challenge and direction that you are craving.

You will have positive can do demeanour, and the ability to make decisions fast, while dealing with high pressure situations as well as highly effective Interpersonal communication skills to allow you to carry out your role.

Bringing with you a well developed problem solving ability and a willingness support ManEx principles are key to your success.

You should be able to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties.
