Role Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:
  • Distillery and Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Leverage strong understanding of distilleries, packaging plants, and manufacturing operations to enhance sustainability efforts across production and operational activities.
  • Water Efficiency Projects: Lead initiatives in water management including rainwater harvesting, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) to improve operational water sustainability.
  • Energy Efficiency: Manage projects on renewable energy integration (solar, biomass), steam and heat recovery, and energy efficiency optimization in manufacturing operations.
  • Waste Management: Drive waste management strategies with a focus on circular economy principles, EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) compliance, and waste-to-energy solutions.


Project & Budget Management:
  • Sustainability Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor sustainability projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
  • Business Case Development: Develop business cases for sustainability initiatives, conduct feasibility studies, and optimize budgets for environmental projects.
  • Government Incentives: Work on identifying, applying, and managing government incentives, subsidies, and support programs for sustainability-related projects.


Stakeholder & Compliance Management:
  • Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Finance, Procurement, Legal, etc., to integrate sustainability into business operations.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Work with external partners such as vendors, consultants, regulatory bodies, and government authorities to ensure alignment on ESG goals and compliance requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and national regulations (e.g., CPCB/SPCB norms, EPR, water, energy, and waste management laws) by maintaining accurate records, reports, and audits.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Travel: Travel to various sites within India (and potentially internationally) as required to monitor sustainability projects and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Global Standards Understanding: Handle reporting projects outcome on financial and environmental impact metrics. Ensure the company adheres to these standards in internal and external ESG reporting.
  • Influencing & Collaboration: Utilize strong influencing skills to align stakeholders across various departments and external partners towards achieving sustainability goals, especially in areas like energy and water management.
  • Individual Contributor: While the role involves managing projects and teams, it will primarily be an individual contributor position, requiring self-motivation, proactive management, and independent execution of initiatives.
  • Self-Motivation: Be highly self-driven, demonstrate accountability, and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision. Able to work independently and contribute to a broader corporate sustainability strategy.


Experience / skills required:

Educational Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • Certifications:
    • Certifications in energy auditing, water management, or waste management (e.g., Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED, ISO 14001, etc.) are highly desirable.


Professional Experience:
  • Experience:
    • 7-12 years of professional experience in industrial sustainability, utilities management, or environmental compliance, ideally in the beverage, FMCG, distillery, or manufacturing industries.
    • Experience in managing multi-site operations and third-party vendor relationships is a plus.
