Diageo is embarking on an exciting and significant Business Transformation Programme underpinned by SAP S/4 HANA. Through this programme Diageo aims to drive process and data standardization and simplification. This programme will be delivered over a multi-year period with global geographic reach.

So, Diageo is looking for a SAP MDG Lead with deep technical competence and governance experience leading a team that will deliver the Master Data vision for Diageo through SAP MDG.

Position Overview

The SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Lead will be responsible for orchestrating the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Diageo's Master Data Governance framework implemented through SAP MDG. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our master data is accurate, consistent, and compliant across all business units and systems. The SAP MDG Lead will collaborate with various customers to drive data governance initiatives and support Diageo's digital transformation efforts.

Roles and Responsibilities

Delivery - Single PoC for the SAP MDG application and its landscape
  • Design and Maintain: Lead the coordinated design and maintenance of the SAP MDG application and the other apps in the MDG landscape. Single Point of ownership for the SAP MDG landscape. Own solution recommendations considering scope and requirements.
  • Strategic Alignment: Improve strategies to ensure that data quality is not compromised and that MDG remains as the single source of truth
  • System Integration: Integrate legacy systems onto a single platform- SAP MDG upholding the design and integration principles
  • Process Design & Configuration: Design and configure processes for SAP MDG. Assist with testing and requirements gathering. Lead the end-to-end change implementation process until production movement.
  • Service Delivery: Accountable for the successful operations and BAU of the SAP MDG application


Collaboration & Leadership
  • Multi-functional Teamwork: Work closely with IT, business units, and external partners to implement MDG solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams
  • Domain Expertise: Serve as an authority on SAP MDG within the organization


Project Management
  • Lifecycle Management: Own end-to-end lifecycle of MDG projects from planning to execution.
  • Project Planning: Lead the project plans, timelines, budgets, and ensure timely delivery of breakthroughs.


Continuous Improvement
  • Process Optimization: Find opportunities for process improvements within the MDG framework.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated with industry trends and standard methodologies in master data management.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is helpful.

Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of proven track record in SAP Master Data Governance or related roles.
  • Consistent record in implementing SAP MDG solutions within large organizations
  • Ability to integrate business process requirements with the technical implementation of SAP Master Data Governance
  • Experience with SAP MDG 9.X and the latest version changes. Expertise in implementing SAP MDG solutions for Business Partner, Finance, and Material
  • Good understanding of master data management principles and practices
  • Experience in configuring rule-based workflows, consolidation, and data quality management. Experience in configuring CV and understanding the interface relationships/interdependencies
  • Expert knowledge in activating and configuring MDG modules and components
  • Understands Fiori apps required to support MDG and technical environment setup
  • Expertise in data model improvement, data transfer (DIF/DEF), data replication framework (DRF), and business rules framework plus (BRF plus)
  • Dedicated and initiative-taking individual with a demonstrable record in tactical data work, data services management, and autonomous/Team workload management
  • Effective communication skills, initiative-taking and self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Preferably, experience with S/4 HANA data migration and SAP Cloud integrations
