SBL was incorporated in 1988 as Associated Breweries Limited and changed its name to Serengeti Breweries Limited in 2002 and commenced commercial operations in 1996 with one brewery in Dar es Salaam. The company was acquired by EABL in October 2010 and has three breweries located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Moshi.

SBL flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brand portfolios include Guinness and Plisner. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor of several global Diageo international renowned spirit brands such as Johnnie Walker®, Smirnoff Vodka®, Bailey's Irish Cream ®, Richot®, Bond 7 Whiskey® and Gilbeys Gin®.

Role Purpose
  • Provide leadership in developing strategies; carrying out performance evaluation and prediction principles to prevent failures and improve your equipment's effectiveness and maintainability, ultimately lowering production costs.
  • Reliability Engineers work closely with maintenance teams to design and implement maintenance plans, monitor equipment performance, and identify potential issues before they become significant problems
  • As leader responsible for handling performance management, coaching and driving performance.


Accountabilities
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards and compliance to maintenance regulatory standards at all times.
  • Ensure MMS Asset Care practices are integrated into Tier 1 operational processes across multiple lines
  • Support development and execution of the weekly maintenance schedule to ensure maximum equipment availability
  • Coach and work with Tier 1 & 2 teams and OEMs to drive faster problem solving to ensure Continuous Improvement and greater Asset Reliability and Availability
  • Attend Daily Operational Review meetings, and take appropriate action to provide support to course correct non-conformance, and to root cause situational problems
  • Coach Operational teams in Asset Care practices to ensure Asset Care capability is developed
  • Ensure all aspects of work order and technical planning is delivered with Tier 1 input. This includes spare parts planning for planned work to minimize Average Working Capital and optimize Mean Time To Repair.
  • Take responsibility for the repair and maintenance budget to ensure prioritization and control of spend
  • Take ownership for the development of maintenance and machine technical skills across shifts
  • Ensure Equipment Life-Cycle is achieved and prompt replacement id done where required.
  • Work with SBL Project Engineer to ensure Reliability of New equipment and Retrofit of existing Equipment.
  • Maintain equipment condition status and data analysis to ensure Equipment Reliability for Site.
  • Ensuring quality and food safety requirement are through embedding quality and food safety culture in Ways of working.

Qualification
  • Degree Level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical & Processing Engineering or any related Engineering
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience in an operations environment
  • Relevant IBD qualification (General Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging) or willing to complete
