About the role

Project managers are responsible for driving complex projects from start to finish; proactively managing project risks, accurately reporting project progress to the Programme manager, and confidently interfacing with business stakeholders to ensure quality delivery and timely completion of the project.

The team will work in close collaboration with GPOs, technology teams, service delivery and markets across all levels of Diageo, as well as partners and third-party suppliers.

Top Accountabilities

• Working closely with the GPOs, Technology, Markets and 3rd party partners, function heads and stakeholders at all levels

• Driving the implementation of the project on a daily basis with regards to time, budget and quality

• Defining the scope for projects with key stakeholders, ensuring that benefits are identified and tracked

• Defining project milestones and deliverables

• Preparing business cases; obtaining approvals and seeking budget

• Selecting, developing and supervising an effective team, co-ordinating their activities and evaluating their performance

• Working with multiple delivery and business partner teams to deliver change at pace and control project outcomes

• Maintaining programme and project plans, including budget /resource plans

• Developing effective governance frameworks; leading weekly/monthly Governance forums

• RAID management - Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependency Management

• Monitoring, reporting, and effective communication of project progress against plan to delivery teams, sponsors, stakeholders, PMO and other governance bodies.

• Developing a consulting approach towards engagement and challenges through problem solving and critical thinking

Proactively manage project risks, resolve issues, and manage escalations

What you'll bring

Technical
  • Extensive program/ project planning and execution skills in leading large and complex change and transformation programs/projects
  • Experience of using a variety of project and business change management methodologies
  • Validated project and modelling skills, to represent information in forms that enhance decision making and communications.
  • Strong understanding of Global Change delivery and program lifecycle
  • Expert user of MS Project, JIRA or similar project management tools and MS Visio.
  • Fluent in MS Office.
  • Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement
  • Understanding of Finance processes O2C, S2P, R2R


Qualifications and Experience Required

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent

• Accredited at Expert level in Lean or Black Belt Six Sigma certified

• Professional Project Management Practitioner level qualification. PMP certified is a plus

• 3-5 years' experience in Project Management or a related area

• Recognised Subject Matter Expert in lean project management and governance

• Relevant experience with complex projects and benefits management

• Rich experience of leading small transformation teams of senior stakeholders

• Experience of working in professional services or shared services

• Experience of automation technologies / implementation, data projects
