About the role

We are delighted to share that we have an excellent opportunity for an Operator to join us within our Blythswood site.

Blythswood Operations involves a comprehensive range of spirit production processes, including filling, disgorging, and maturation, with a focus on both whisky and rum. These operations are supported by warehousing techniques that include traditional storage methods, high-racking systems, and palletised operations, ensuring efficient management of the spirit throughout each stage.

Operators have the key responsibility to ensure the safe movement and handling of spirits by closely following established process procedures. They will be required to support a range of activities including spirit filling, warehousing operations, disgorging processes and empty cask handling to ensure targets are met relating to safety, quality, service and cost.

Duties will include:

  • Safe movement of spirit casks manually or with handling devices, ensuring timely delivery to disgorging units as per schedule.

  • Maintain product integrity in alignment with quality assurance standards and follow warehouse and disgorging schedules.

  • Operate barcode readers for accurate stock updates and data transfer to meet R&C accounting requirements.

  • Apply and uphold all safety, environmental, and R&C standards and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively within the team to ensure smooth warehouse operations and promptly address any schedule deviations or emergencies.

  • Support business strategies and demonstrate Diageo values through positive actions and teamwork.

Health and safety compliance is key and you'll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other Key Performance Indicators and targets such as production quality and HMRC compliance.

As an Operator you will work 38 hours a week on the dayshift. Working core hours Monday to Thursday 07.00 - 15.45 and Friday 07.00 - 12.00.
