This role is a key position within Diageo's Digital and Automation team. The Digital & Automation team is part of Global engineering. As a strategic partner to manufacturing, we specialise in Digital and Cybersecurity. We deliver best in class solutions, ensuring our brands are secured for future generations.

The team is currently involved in establishing governance and management around our Operational Technology (OT) environment and facilitating a large digitalisation strategy driving the business towards Industry 4.0.

The OT Integration Engineer is responsible for assisting in governance of OT systems, and helping standardise and enhance our manufacturing systems. This role report directly to the OT Integration Manager and is a key technical function within Diageo's global Digital & Automation team. This role will also collaborate closely with the Diageo's IT team. The successful candidate will have a strong OT networking background and experience in MES integration, data exchange and OT/IT convergence. Cyber security experience will also be very beneficial.

The goal of the role is to contribute to our digital transformation and drive standards and guidance that will ensure the integration and optimisation of the OT and IT architecture, infrastructures and teams.

Responsible For
  • OT Networking: Designing, implementing, and handling OT networking solutions (including wireless) to ensure robust and secure communication within our manufacturing environment.
  • MES Integration: Leading the integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with operational technologies to enhance production efficiency and data flow.
  • Data Exchange: Establishing and running secure protocols for the exchange of data between OT systems and other enterprise applications.
  • OT Standards Development: Developing and maintaining OT standards that promote operational excellence and align with industry best practices.


Accountable For
  • Ensuring the seamless operation and integration of OT systems within the company's infrastructure.
  • Delivering OT projects on time and within scope, aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintaining high standards of data security and integrity in all OT-related activities.
  • Collaborating effectively with multi-functional teams to support the company's critical initiatives including creating new standards.


Skills and Experience
  • Confirmed experience in OT networking, MES integration, and data exchange.
  • Strong understanding of OT standards and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies.
