Purpose
To partner with the business to drive the execution of the tax strategies, policies, and governance framework across Diageo. Proactively engage with business partners with a commercial mindset to generate opportunities and to deliver robust tax risk management and mitigation plans for Mexico Supply businesses.
Support the business strategy and operational activity for Mexico Supply. Support the tax strategical decision-making and execution of Global Tax strategy within the scope assigned. To lead the tax compliance and reporting processes within scope.
Driving the standardization and automation agenda of the compliance process for Mexico Supply.

Accountabilities
What you will be responsible for:
- Managing a team and acting as a line manager for the team including end-to-end people management responsibilities for the direct reports assigned to you.
- Ensuring that VAT and Excise Returns, CIT returns, transfer pricing processes, and connected supplementary returns are prepared according to the global standard process and controls, local DTP-s, on time, and utilizing automation tools where applicable.
- Managing routine CIT, TP, and other direct tax-related audit inquiries and projects for your markets.
- Ensuring compliance with market-specific regulatory requirements and legislative changes by working closely with Tax Business partners and Outsourced Service providers and her/his team.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring these are done on time and in an internal and external control-compliant way. Coordinating the BS reconciliation preparation and review process.
- Actively managing and coordinating tax document retention for your markets.
- Working with the Global Outsource Provider on Tax reporting processes including
- Classification and input of permanent and temporary differences into Tax Provision Tool (OTP) for P10 reporting
- Prior year adjustment calculations and Review and reconciliation of tax payments in OTP.
- Tax Provision calculation roll forward
- Driving continuous process improvement through establishing a LEAN approach to drive effectiveness and efficiency - supporting process improvements and rollout of standardized processes and automation for market under your scope (Mexico Supply)
- Coordinating and overseeing the new controls and KPI report implementation, monitoring the implemented KPI-s, supporting investigation of the root cause or errors, and working with end-to-end processes to improve KPIs
- Ensuring market queries are responded by her/his team promptly
- Providing training and any other kinds of technical support to the whole team and other departments. Form the capability building of her/his team.
- Keep Process Documentation actualized and accurate.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to maximize VAT recovery for Mexico Supply.
- Review and analyze VAT transactions to identify eligible claims.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate and complete VAT claims to tax authorities.
- Ensure the organization's VAT processes and claims comply with applicable laws.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with VAT compliance.
- Continuously assess and improve VAT claim processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary data for VAT claims.
- Communicate with tax authorities and external partners to resolve issues and address inquiries.
This role will be responsible for tax compliance matters for Mexico Supply entities (7 entities).
