Off Premise Focus & Distributor Management Support

Function: Commercial

Level: L6

Location: Field Based - Columbus, Ohio

Context/Scope:

The Market Specialist with an Off-Premise focus is responsible for driving sales growth and brand presence in off-premise venues including independent liquor stores, convenience, and other retail outfits.. This role involves developing strong relationships with venue owners and managers, executing promotional activities, and ensuring effective merchandising of Diageo Non-Alcohol brands (DNAB).

Financial/People Leadership:

The Market Specialists do not have direct reports although manage distributor accountability.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets in off-premise channels.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product distribution and visibility in key accounts.
  • Execute sales plans that align with overall brand objectives with distributor management partnership.
  • Plan and execute activities to drive consumer awareness and education.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets for their respective local market.
  • Build relationships with other Diageo commercial stakeholders to ensure connectivity and opportunities to amplify presence in all retail outlets.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends & opportunities growth by preparing regular reports on campaign performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Ensure compliance on all relevant regulations/company policies on all off-premise and distributor activities by maintaining accurate records/documentation related off-premise and distributor activities/results.
  • Distributor execution management through ride alongs and market visits to address any issues or concerns as well as identify new areas of opportunities to build and educate consumers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for distributors, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Works towards Sales Metrics KPIs for excellence in execution
  • Analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for DNAB Brand growth.
  • Participate in GSM and QBR Meetings helping to bring to life their market data to multiple levels of leadership through deck and verbal presentations.


Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Ability to engage, influence and coordinate wholesalers and distributors.
  • Self-starter with strong ability to influence with data and fact-based selling strategies. Expertise in various POS data including IRI and Chain-Related Category Data.
  • 3+ Years working in sales, trade, and/or distributor management; off-premise and distributor management expertise and focus highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing distributor relationships and achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives with excellent time management skills; ability prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
