What will your role be?
The Global Procurement function at Diageo plays a key role in fueling growth and value, every day everywhere. This role sits in the APAC Procurement COE under the Supply Team and is key to driving the transformation and deliverables of the Supply categories in Australia - a critical Make market fueling commercial growth in the region. The role reports into the Market Category Director Logistics for APAC.

This role will be the accountable for the execution of the logistics category in Australia; working closely with the MCD Logistics (APAC) and the Logistics team on the execution of the market strategy and sourcing, as well as driving and coordinating supplier performance in conjunction with Logistics. Additional to the logistics category remit, this role is primarily responsible for business partnering with the market supply team.
What does this role look like for you?
- Develop strong relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders as a trusted and respected business partner.
- Deliver financial and non-financial KPI's which include risk and governance, societal and sustainability targets.
- Jointly set objectives with stakeholders, undertake business reviews to reflect achievements against established KPI's, analyse performance and actively manage continuous performance and identify with the business any relevant action plans.
- Embed best in class procurement category excellence capability and process, i.e. sourcing, contract management, risk and supplier performance management, as well as supporting the introduction of supplier collaboration models with strategic suppliers.
- Drive the execution of the long-term category strategies in alignment with the appropriate stakeholders and in conjunction with the global/regional category leads.
- Input into Supply ways of working with the business to help remove barriers and pain points, drive simplification and enable bolder team outcomes.
- Support the development and coaching of broader Procurement/Supply Team
- Demonstrate personal accountability for great performance and brilliant execution, whilst promoting high standards of ethics and compliance.
- Ownership of market level reporting i.e. Monthly PPV and AOP process for the local market
What will you bring to the table?
- An experienced Procurement or Supply Chain Logistics specialist with a positive and collaborative mindset, and the capability to establish and build internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Can do broad strategic thinking as well as detailed hands-on execution.
- Highly resilient and energised by challenges and comfortable operating in a dynamic, agile supply ecosystem.
- Seasoned in best-in-class category management and sourcing process with a passion for delivering value and efficiencies.
- Highly organised multi-tasker that is skilled at prioritisation and delivering independently and through collaboration across the team
- Clear communicator and able to effectively engage audiences to secure outcomes.
- Results-driven and holds themselves accountable to deliver at a very high standard, delivering on promises and commitments.
- Self-driven and able to work with autonomy requiring only light-touch senior support.
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Proven experience in procurement sourcing or supply chain Logistics ops relationship management in an external facing environment
- Must have proven competency working in a matrixed environment in a regional team. Able to effectively work and create visibility with diverse and remote cross-functional teams, and to influence and build relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders virtually.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, including forensic understanding of cost drivers and macro environment. Commercial acumen, understanding of the business, and the ability to take decisions that drive total-business value.
- Procurement Category or supply logistics experience; demonstrated performance in leading projects, managing and negotiating with suppliers and experience developing and executing category and procurement strategies.
- Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Resilient and able to work in an agile, fast moving environment and to keep up with pace of change and prioritize according to business needs
- Ability to clearly communicate and articulate complex situations in simple terms to enable stakeholder engagement and buy-in. Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skillset and the ability to flex style to influence at multiple levels.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience; ideally with supplier/customer management experience in FMCG manufacturing environment, supporting supply operations.
