Manufacturing Excellence Analyst

Job Summary:
The Diageo Plainfield location is a growing 24x7 alcoholic spirit and malt beverage manufacturing facility delivering 30+ million cases per annum! The site houses both manufacturing and central brand technical functions with approximately 400 hourly union employees and 70 salaried employees! The plant is focused on driving continued performance improvement in its manufacturing operations; the Diageo Manufacturing Management System (MMS) framework is a key enabler to this goal. The Manufacturing Excellence Analyst role covers tasks and activities within the manufacturing excellence framework and function.

Key Outputs:

  • Collect data as it relates to packaging line downtime.
  • Support Packaging Team Leaders, Manufacturing Excellence Manager and other cross functional department in the implementation of Diageo Manufacturing Management System (MMS)
  • Analyze key business metrics to find opportunities for improvement or potential growth and make recommendations based on the results.
  • Participate in root cause problem solving sessions
  • Conduct process confirmation walk-throughs
  • Support visual management and 5S within the plant
  • Drive changeover improvement initiatives through Set-Up Time Reduction concepts
  • Participate in Autonomous Maintenance Drumbeats and Kaizen Events.
  • Support waste reduction initiatives and projects

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • 4 years Bachelors Degree or equivalent ( Business, Science or Engineering).
  • 1 year data analytics hands on experience.
  • 1 year Knowledge in Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge in TRACC systems a plus
  • Ability to analyze issues and provide logical resolutions
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and oral) with demonstrated ability to both interact with and influence others.
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task, review data, find trends in data
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Power BI, Redzone
  • Solid experience with thinking analytically and strategically in problem-solving and decision-making situations
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how to apply DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) for problem solving.
