Job Description

The Finance Operations tower covers a wide range of activities supporting our finance agenda globally. Apart from core RTR and Financial Reporting bring handled globally role , it also covers Treasury and Banking Operations and Overheads and Payroll accounting for some parts of the organisation.

With c. 350 employees, Finance Operations is one of the six global Towers within Global Business Operations that drives end to end process excellence across four key Service Centre locations, Budapest, Bogotá, Bangalore and Manila.

Finance Operations is a continually evolving organisation as we strive to deliver service excellence for the Markets we support and act as an enabler for Diageo strategy.

This role will be expected to work closely with the Finance Operations leadership team to drive the performance promise for the tower, and ensure that the various projects run by the tower are delivered on time etc.

Dimensions of the role:

The business partnering manager role directly reports to and supports the Finance Operations tower head to support and enable the delivery of the performance promise. He /she will be a critical support to the Head of Finance Operations to supervise global Performance outcomes, enable smooth and coherent operation of the overall tower, while at the same time delivering a high-reaching strategic program encompassing various initiatives.

He/ she will work very closely with the Finance Operations leadership teams to ensure that all key results of the tower are achieved. He / She will help define the annual performance outcome of the tower and measure the actual performance against it. Being a black belt certified person, he will work closely with Governance teams to sure that all process documents clearly have the SIPOC defined.

Purpose of Role:

This role will work very closely with the Finance Operations tower head in understanding strategic priorities, in tracking, measuring and reporting the Performance Promise of the tower, monitor critical metric performance - hold the leads accountable for performance outcomes, expecting RCA, action planning and follow through, ensure the delivery of efficiency programmes and enable the smooth and coherent operation of the overall department.

Top Accountabilities:

The business partnering manager is responsible to provide the monthly rhythm of performance reporting, providing a clear presentation deck that collects insights on progress with strategic programmes and summarises critical metric outcomes, ensuring that any support or intervention needed is clearly defined. Based on performance insights, the person in role will restlessly engage the team to ensure that clear root cause analysis and action planning is in place to address issues and continually deliver better and better outcomes.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and research to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to enhance overall performance and efficiency and enable effective business partnering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share goals and drive successful execution of projects.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support decision-making and drive operational improvements.
  • Monitor industry trends and standard methodologies to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and partners.
  • Support the implementation of new processes and systems to enhance operational effectiveness

This role will:
  • Support the Finance Experience Tower Head on planning and implementing the yearly Productivity programme of the tower
  • Act as the key operational support to the Fin Ops Tower lead - monitoring KPI performance and seeing opportunities for efficiency.
  • Deliver the monthly reporting cycle for the Team, issuing an appropriate Performance deck to the delivery leaders that contains the key data and insights needed for decision-making.
  • Engage with the SD leads within the tower and their teams to help identify and address the root causes of critical metric or Productivity performance issues, ensuring clear action plans are put in place.
  • Master the big picture critical metric performance trends and drilling into operational detail as necessary.
  • Build brilliant working relationships with tower leadership team and their direct reports.
  • Support key efficiency and process improvement workstreams delegated by Head of Finance Ops tower including benefit analysis and monitoring performance to project landmarks.
  • Ensure that there is good communication and feedback with ‘enabling' teams such as Governance, Financial Control, Information Systems and Facilities. He / she needs to ensure that all requests coming from the tower are going to the right audience with clear context
  • Set up the MSR framework and drive the same with CG and Group Treasury.


Measures of Success:
  • Achievement of key performance indicators (critical metrics) related to operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Successful implementation of critical initiatives leading to measurable improvements in business performance.
  • Positive feedback from partners on the quality and impact of strategic and operational recommendations.


Experience Required:
  • A chartered accountant or any other equivalent professional qualification or a postgraduate degree such as MBA with strong accounting and financial record to report operations knowhow
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to optimally prioritise multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to optimally communicate ideas and recommendations to partners at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel and PowerBI.
  • Proven track record to work collaboratively in a team environment form effective relationships.
  • 8+ years of tried performance in a corporate financial or operational environment, including some people leadership experience.
  • Certified Black belt / Green Belt preferred

Desirable
  • Basic understanding of Process mining tools such as Celonis, PowerBI
  • Change management hands on experience
