Our engineering & maintenance teams in North Scotland are responsible for all aspects of the maintenance in the north maltings. The team delivers improved asset reliability and world class resource utilisation through planning and execution of maintenance tasks and positively contributes to a World Class outlook and actively support the development and successful implementation of strategies to achieve this aim.
About this role
The Maintenance Manager leads a team of engineering personnel supporting 24/7 Malting and Distillery operations. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for delivering all aspects of process maintenance to support compliant, optimised, cost-effective lifecycle assurance of all plant whilst networking collaboratively with other Malt Distilling Engineering Centres in order to deliver the wider Scotch Asset Care Strategy.
This role will focus a lot on people management and will involve leading performance, developing teams and ensuring that your team are connected to operational objectives and criticality of a one-team mentality in achieving optimised performance through excelling asset care service delivery. You will also be a part of on-call duty manager role for the wider production operation (currently 1 in 6 weeks).
Other key responsibilities for this role will be :
- Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Standards
- Ensuring compliance to maintenance regulatory standards within the area
- Working closely with Site Manager's, Operators, Maintenance Leads and Craft groups to ensure all mandatory and requested maintenance is effectively planned into the production schedule, ensuring the accurate resource and spare parts are available to carry out the maintenance
- Supporting and energising deployment of the MMS Asset Care Strategy level with technical teams and Operations
- Developing and delivering focused improvements to drive plant uptime and cost competitiveness
- Driving improvement initiatives in line with Manufacturing Excellence asset care practice
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant
- Ability to coordinate a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly
- Knowledge of Reliability Maintenance techniques and data analysis, use of applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and business systems such as SAP
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to lead and drive improvements
- Able to work as individual but also part of team. Have meticulous attention to detail
- Degree or qualification in engineering or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience
- Full UK driving licence
