Diageo Australia employs approximately 420 people and operates in Australia with two production sites in Bundaberg and Huntingwood.

The Huntingwood Supply Site comprises 4 Packaging lines, a bulk spirit processing operation, Distribution Warehouse, and Innovation Team.

Our iconic brands include Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, Tanqueray, Smirnoff, Bundaberg, Captain Morgan etc.

What does this role look like for you?

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance, repair, problem solving and improvement of assets and their availability across our site and you'll accurately record and report the outcomes of any maintenance problems via our established maintenance system to facilitate the sharing of best practice. Take accountability for asset care standards within the area and ensure delivery of effective Asset Care processes and procedures.
  • Delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale).
  • Lead the Asset Care best practice deployment within the area of responsibility.
  • Coach and support Operational craft/trades teams to deliver performance and increase availability & reliability of equipment.
  • Daily ensure good governance around internal and external compliance (health & safety, quality, and environment).
  • Continuous Improvement - support situational problem-solving activity and effectiveness
  • Needs to be effective across shifts and must be willing to flex working hours to cover various shifts Responsible for the skill and competence of each team.
  • Actively spend 70% of time on shop floor
  • Work with Tier 1 & 2 teams and OEMs to drive faster problem solving and greater Asset Reliability and Availability


What will you bring to the table?
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards and compliance to maintenance regulatory standards always.
  • Ensure MMS Asset Care practices are integrated into Tier 1 operational processes across multiple lines.
  • Support development and execution of the weekly maintenance schedule to ensure maximum equipment availability.
  • Be accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.
  • Be expert coach role model in use of Root Cause Problem Solving and 5Whys to ensure permanent fixes are determined and delivered.
  • Attend Daily Operational Review meetings and take appropriate action to provide support to course correct non-conformance, and to root cause situational problems.
  • Implement maintenance programmes that support and improve asset performance and utilisation.
  • Responsible for supporting capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.
  • Deliver 100% P4G conversations and personal development plans for all craft members (both technical and behavioural competencies) to ensure development of maintenance competence in specialist and craft teams.
  • Coach Operational teams in Asset Care practices to ensure Asset Care capability is developed.
  • Ensure all aspects of work order and technical planning is delivered with Tier 1 input. This includes spare parts planning for planned work to minimise Average Working Capital and optimise Mean Time to Repair.
  • Responsible for and experts in breakdown analysis. Ensure any outsourced activity for Asset care & assurance is performed to required standard on the line
  • Take responsibility and support the delivery of for the repair and maintenance budget to ensure prioritisation and control of spend.
  • Take ownership for the development of maintenance across shifts and manage individual team members performance through the established performance management systems.
  • Leading the Major Shutdowns through planning Process.
