JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
Ensure effective management of overall Plant Planning function and the Finished goods and logistics functions, including capacity planning, resources and inventory integrity & planning related functions to achieve customer service targets.
Provide leadership in root cause resolutions & flagging cross functional issues impacting planning and related areas e.g. with procurement, central planning, vendors, systems, operational etc
Provide site leadership in link to other functions within site and across other NA sites in planning & related areas
Provide effective people leadership to deliver the departments and sites associate engagement strategy

Makes strategic decisions (recommendations regarding supply chain logistics processes and systems to drive service, cost, and efficiency improvements).
Management Responsibility:
Provides leadership to direct reports in materials and Finished Goods Warehousing and Logistics

Complexity of Role
This position interacts with all plant functions, a firm understanding of Human Resources, Corporate groups such as Procurement, Network Supply, Brand Change, Technical Resources. This role must have an understanding of how the business is run in regards to plant objectives and general regulatory guidelines.
Key Outputs/Deliverables
Day to day management of Material, Finished goods and logistics teams, in the plant to ensure smooth production and meeting customers' need.
To ensure optimum quality service in the area of transportation and warehouse of finished goods operations.
Collaborate with cross functional plant planners (production scheduler, material planner, and related planning functions) and finished goods and logistics teams.
Long/short term planning of consolidated site volumes to determine forward shift pattern, capacity requirements, inventory levels and resource requirements. Owns data gathering, analysis & capacity provision for LE/AOP.
Manage supply plan to agree business risk in plant tactical plans.
Develop strategy for logistics and planning department to meet and exceed plant objectives
Agree on behalf of site analytical policies for all production lines and products. Support data gathering and analysis to conclude ways of working (SLA) agreement with central supply planning team.
Responsible for management of dry goods to ensure minimum stock holding and write off whilst improving availability to policy for the achievement of customer service.• Lead communication between all areas eg Central Supply Planning & Material Teams, Production, Dispatch, Spirit (blending), Material. Ensure the identification and development of process improvement opportunities in conjunction with the Super-User/ Process Improvement Team.

Experience / skills required:
Experience
University degree, graduate a plus, with relevant experience in/with production facilities, preferably consumer products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer literate
Planning systems and processes
Strong SAP knowledge and capability
Experience in a unionized setting
