About the role

Be the leader in the Integration activities according to the initiative's agenda between NAM and Tequila&Mezcal Category and supporting with new development, brands integrations and being the key point of contact between the Procurement Categories Lead for specific project, integrations or initiatives between brands and local Diageo's entities.

To develop Procurement strategies with Third party Operations (distilling, Bottling, Tanks Storages, agave and other external services required) considering end-to-end in our distillery footprint plan in the Tequila & Mezcal category.

Responsibilities:
  • Optimize value returned to the business
  • This role has responsibility for developing agreed category strategy for Integrations and TPOs in Tequila&Mezcal category.
  • Lead the development of appropriate relationships with partners
  • Category strategy development and implementation involves working with multiple internal partner groups to understand the business needs, staying current on category / industry changes and handling financial as well as supply-oriented risks.
  • Responsible for ensuring supplier management processes are in place for all key suppliers. (CRT, COMERCAM certifications, sustainability agenda and governance process).
  • Prioritize and deploy resources against the highest value opportunities, both new value and value protection/enhancement.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and focus on delivering business goals.
  • Driving greater innovation through key partners/ influencing partner investment and direction
  • Drive forward thinking to prove the business delivery and process improvement with the key partners (Finance, Planning, Taxes, Operation) in the future.
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge and insight of the supplier base to deliver against the Market important metrics
  • Handle appropriate operational and financial performance relationships with suppliers.
  • Implement and embed Supplier Performance Management framework to ensure that contracts deliver value through cost reduction and improved service and quality performance.
  • Ensure that Supplier Performance levels continue to improve to meet wider Diageo needs and support key projects & initiatives.
  • Stimulate Supplier Capabilities to generate ideas for the future.


Key Outputs:
  • Develop, agree, and deliver cross-functional category strategy
  • Lead and achieve/exceed the performance targets agreed within strategy
  • Establish and maintain accurate governance processes and category forums
  • Ensure effective supplier long-term relationships exist that build sustainable value for both parties and meet all Diageo standards


Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in majors such as: Business Administration, Supply and Logistics, International Business, Engineering and significant Procurement experience in leading suppliers. Progressed through Procurement Manager, Supplier Performance Specialist, Category Specialist and other roles inside of Supply&Procurement.
  • Functional understanding of the category management process with experience of deployment in at least one category
  • Experience in sourcing and successful negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial or cost modelling, with the ability to identify trends and make decisions
  • Build a positive relationship, influencing skills, and challenge senior partners to gain credibility quickly with key partners
  • Outstanding communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Experience of leading negotiations with suppliers
  • Capabilities to present and analyze data and presented in slides with a local and regional team.
  • Values and practices integrity and ethics in all job-related relationships.
  • English and Spanish bilingual language skills a plus
  • Ability to operate and lead variety of senior partners across a global, complex matrix structure.
  • Preferable certification in Project Management, Knowledge in FP&A and M&A.
