TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

• MBA with a specialization in Marketing

Experience:

• 8-12 years of experience in Sales & Marketing

• Experience in Category Customer Marketing Manager or Brand Marketing (brand marketing with commercial experience), sales/ innovation experience can be an added advantage

Knowledge & skills:

• Strong performance orientation

• Strategic thinker who can turn a strategy or idea into execution

• Strong Commercial experience and understanding

• Commercial planning capability - bottom up and top down target setting

• Strong understanding of Customer Value Chain and P&L levers

• Shopper understanding and insight and TTL growth drivers

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Innovation Pipeline

- Input into and influence the Innovation pipeline NSV / GM ambition to support our Performance Ambition and goals.

- Leverage strong commercial understanding of our RTC, Commercial Strategy, Competitive Landscape, performance opportunities and executional capacity for the right mix of Innovation and renovation projects to deliver the biggest performance and share outcomes.

- Use your role as a satellite member of the Innovation Team to provide the voice of Commercial, Customer, Category and Shopper to achieve the "triple win" - projects that delight shoppers, deliver value to Customers and grow our categories (and Diageo's share of them)

Commercialization Plans

- Influence bundles to optimise commercial execution e.g. price point, margin, pack size, case count

- Lead the creation of the commercialization plan for every project - defining our ambition and plans for growth drivers, investment, shopper marketing, customer proposition and executional coordination for optimal performance outcomes

- Engage commercial stakeholders to ensure quality contributions and inputs for aligned, ambitious and achievable commercialization plans

- Deliver customer value chains (price, margin) and volume and execution targets (distribution, ROS) that demonstrate deep understanding of customer, shopper, category needs and optimizes Diageo's RTC strength.

Shopper Marketing

- Develop best practice Shopper marketing for every Innovation project that maximizes the distribution, ROS and growth for every innovation based on stop-engage-land principles.

- Bring innovative and trend leading thinking to Innovation project Shopper Marketing based on great insight that surprises and delights our customers and shoppers and pioneers new shopper ideas for the whole business.

Navigate Process

- Develop an advanced understanding of the navigate process to ensure the voice of commercial is heard at every gate, and taking the lead post Gate 3 as the Commercialization plans become central to success.

- Document and represent aligned commercialization plans within the Navigate process and gate meetings to inspire and engage gatekeepers and stakeholders for on time / first time approvals.

Launch execution and performance

- Oversee commercial engagement, cycle briefing and execution of all launches, working with the regional and cluster teams to inspire and bring clarity/alignment to standards of execution and target setting/tracking.

- Define tracking metrics for all launch and oversee tracking and diagnosis, recommending course correction where needed.

- Communicate launch performance across the business providing insight into learnings.

- Complete post launch evaluation on an ongoing process culminating in high quality Gate 6 approvals.

- Continue to oversee Innovation project performance until official hand over from Innovation to Brand.

Budget Management

- Recommend and secure the Innovation Commercialization budget (Post gate 3 TTL) to ensure all projects are fully funded in line with gate approvals

- Execute IC budget across RPCs and clusters with clear and accurate tracking
