CONTEXT
Consumers, customers, suppliers and employees want faster, more connected experiences. To enable this, Diageo is undertaking a high-reaching transformation journey by moving to a more integrated and end-to-end process and capability focused organisation. This cultural approach and organisational shift will be achieved by establishing a new organisational-wide framework and capability called the ‘Global Process Ownership Model'. The model will operationalized Diageo's Growth Ambition, driving excellence from grain to glass by connecting markets, functions, and operations through the definition of end-to-end global process and capability standards. It will require us to rethink our relationship with people, process, data and technology and how all elements are brought together at the right time and in the right way, to deliver outcomes. This operating model change will able us to more optimally drive sustainable transformation and efficiency at scale, as well supporting Diageo to digitise the business.

The GPO Model Transformation Team will define, design, deploy, drive embedment and continuous improvement of the Model (at an enterprise level). Bringing Functions and Markets on the journey (Exec down) to drive agreement and the shift to a GPO Model aligned organisation. The team will work in partnership with a broad range of customers to agree, codify and deliver new ways of working across the business. This could involve everything from defining clearer decision rights/RACIs between teams across the end-to-end change journey, to shaping the organisational set up needed to support it. Key customers will include but are not limited to; Global Process Executive (GPE), Owners (GPOs), and Leads (GPLs), as well as functions such as the Strategy & Transformation Team, Digital Technology and Data Team, Controls, and Transformation Programs.
Note: This team does not define the standards for business processes/capabilities themselves (e.g. for Finance), instead it will define the common approach needed across all GPO Teams to stand up the model consistently.
