About the team: (TE)

About the role:
  • Data Subject Rights Requests: Work with the People Privacy Legal Counsel, Employment Legal Counsel, HR shared service colleagues and other internal partners to action data subject access and deletion requests from employees, former employees and job applicants.
  • Privacy Incidents: Support People Privacy Legal Counsel in actioning and remediating data privacy incidents, including root cause analysis and follow-up.
  • Senior Partner Engagement: Support Senior Data Privacy Director in delivery of quarterly updates to HR Risk Management Committee; provide privacy metrics updates, on periodic and ad hoc bases, to senior HR and other collaborators; partner with Privacy Team colleagues to update and maintain metrics dashboards.
  • Privacy Assessments: Partner with colleagues in HR, Corporate Security, Cybersecurity, Digital & Technology and other Global Business Organisation teams to facilitate and assist completion of privacy risk assessments. Working with People Privacy Legal Counsel and other Privacy Team colleagues to complete required legal and policy analysis and recommend privacy risk mitigation steps to business partners.
  • Risk Mitigation Adherence: Ensure all risk mitigation steps are actioned to resolution, holding people to account and calling out when deadlines are not met.
  • Training: Deliver privacy training (customized to audience) in partnership with other Privacy Team colleagues.
  • Special Projects: Develop and support opportunities to better build privacy by design into Diageo's HR and other People Data communities; partner with People Privacy Legal Counsel and other Privacy Team colleagues to work on projects specifically targeting improvement of adherence to purpose limitation, data minimization, storage limitation and integrity and confidentiality requirements of applicable privacy laws; partner with People Privacy Legal Counsel on ensuring adequate legal basis for all people-related data processing activities at Diageo.

  • Confidence and ability to influence: Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in ability to influence partners at all levels of the organization. Ability to operate in a diplomatic but robust manner.


Role Responsibilities: (TE)

Experience / skills required:
  • 5+ years proven ability in data privacy, gained either in a corporate privacy team or a consultancy organization.
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm for the field of data privacy. Understanding of current trends and concerns in people-related data privacy, such as the use of AI and automated decision-making technologies.
  • Experience of working in a multinational environment.
  • Experience in HR-related privacy matters is strongly preferred.
  • CIPP/E, CIPM and other professional privacy qualifications highly desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) capabilities.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and other dashboarding tools highly desirable.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and resolve problems logically and systematically.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects with strong prioritization skills and self-sufficiency. Collaborative, but confident autonomous working approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to communicate sometimes complex and technical privacy concepts to non-technical customers; be able to influence decision-making.
  • High self-motivation
