About the role

Johnnie Walker's Global Head of Digital Products & Consumer Data is responsible for translating brand & business strategies into digital & omnichannel consumer experiences that improve growth, engagement, marketing efficiency and brand equity.

To do so requires us to manage our digital platforms and owned channels in a new way for Diageo-moving away from fragmented websites and technology to global brand, brand home and D2C platforms managed centrally as technology products that enable brand and market success.

This role balances strategic digital marketing & eCommerce skills with the technical expertise needed to deliver digital innovations and direct technical development resources.

JohnnieWalker.com is highly complex and live in 41 markets that require global coordination and localized support. The brand-and the person in this role-is also a critical contributor to Diageo's broader Digital Transformation priorities and the creation of best-in-class marketing technologies.

Role responsibilities

This role is responsible for defining, building and managing our owned digital channel platforms globally-JohnnieWalker.com, Data capture, CRM, SEO, Analytics-while supporting the digital capability needs of local markets with a variety of digital regulations.

Responsible for the creation of end-to-end product & data strategy & roadmaps, product prioritization and development, and implementation of technical capabilities & integrations for Johnnie Walker as well as shared capabilities for Diageo brands.

Responsible for providing recommendations on how product/data strategy informs brand strategy.

This role is responsible for defining, building, and managing our owned digital channel platforms globally-JohnnieWalker.com, Data capture, CRM, SEO, Analytics-while supporting the digital capability needs of local markets with a variety of digital regulations.

Top Accountabilities
  • Own the digital product strategy, vision and roadmap for JW owned platforms.
  • Plan, Design and Execute seamless Digital & Omnichannel e2e experiences.
  • Manage BAU and transformation product development teams.
  • Direct Decision Sciences teams and agencies to understand the consumer journey end-to-end and continuously drive conversion through Digital and Omnichannel experiences.
  • Identify the key CRM capabilities required with brand and commercial teams to launch & build at scale management etc).
  • Optimize traffic source (organic vs direct vs paid) by deploying SEO programs and always on social media strategies.
  • Leverage digital media, first party data for A/B testing and personalized contact strategies to acquire, engage, convert and retain customers.
  • Manage design and implementation of D2C eCommerce strategy and technologies in markets.


Stakeholders

Internal stakeholders include the Johnnie Walker GBT, and brand and digital leads in all markets + Global Digital Factory teams, Global Digital & Technology leaders and digital and data leadership across Guinness, Malts.com, The-Bar.com, JWPS & RARE.

External stakeholders are digital development partners.

Experience/skills required
  • Significant consumer product management experience. Minimum of 8 - 10 years managing digital products, ideally including D2C platforms.
  • Experience implementing a vision for an integrated data strategy to develop enduring 1:1 relationships with consumers and enhance LTV.
  • A history of working across media, digital, CRM, social and with external agencies.


Qualifications
  • Advanced qualifications or commensurate experience in Agile methodology.
  • Advanced qualifications or commensurate experience in User Experience design.
  • Strong executional bias, with a test & learn mentality.
  • Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, handles vision and purpose, knows how to lead prioritisation and decision-making process based on insights.
  • Successful management of decision makers at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes.
  • Strong ability to influence, collaborate, achieve through and with others.
  • Deep personal accountability for great performance.
