The scope

Financial Controlling and Analysis (FC&A) Teams are part of the Controllers Group and provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting and financial planning and analysis. The teams are responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency.

The role

The Financial Controlling Junior Manager will support team members with technical and with soft-skill related questions and issues and will be responsible to delegate work within the team, also will coordinate or liaise with people in different functions such as tax, group accounting when it comes to financial controlling, technical accounting matters.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the respective Profit and Loss / Balance sheet area from accounting, reporting and controlling perspective
  • Support the Head of Financial Control to understand business operations and issues, ensure the financial implications of these are gained accurately in the financial and statutory statements
  • Provide decision support for business partners through value add analysis, detailed understanding of movements on accounts, the business reason behind those, and collection and presentation of Risk & Opportunities
  • Planning - Coordinate with markets, sense check and validate the bottom up results to the top down expectation
  • Prepare quality reconciliations through deep understanding of the figures supported, reported. Ensure smooth and accurate month-end closes.
  • Ensure that the policies and procedures are understood and followed in the team and act as advisor to other market & group functional teams
  • Give ideas, energy, passion and support to the continuous improvement of the process. Simplify and standardize processes across IOI market end-to-end.
  • Ensure that financial processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are closely adhered to in line with CARM processes
  • Project leading of process initiatives and system development
  • Lead and mentor other team members
  • Support the internal and external audits


About you
  • Degree educated in relevant finance / accounting/ business
  • Qualified accountant
  • 6-8 years of experience in accounting area
  • Experience working within an international / multicultural environment
  • Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting, Accounting principles)
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to see and understand the big picture and deliver high level message, offering alternative solutions for issues
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Fluent English knowledge
