About the team
Europe Financial Controlling team provides financial analysis type of activities predominantly to Europe market, including reporting, analysis and planning. The geography of Europe & Turkey consists of six independent markets: GB, Ireland, Southern Europe, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe and Turkey. Benelux as a cluster belongs to the Northern Europe market (together with Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Scandinavian countries).

The role belongs to the Financial Controlling Europe team and reports directly to the Northern Europe Revenue Controlling Junior Manager but works closely together with the Benelux Commercial and Sales teams.

The Trade Investment Analyst role is about controlling and supervising the trade discounts that Diageo offers to its customers and clients.

Main responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the respective Profit and Loss / Balance sheet area from accounting, reporting and controlling perspective
- Decision support for business partners through value-add analysis, detailed understanding of movements on accounts, the business reason behind those, and collection and presentation of Risk & Opportunities
- Prepare quality reconciliations through deep understanding of the figures supported, reported
- Ensure that financial processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with CARM processes
- Continuously supervise the respective P&L and/or BS accounts for any inconsistencies
- Ensure smooth and accurate month-end close
- Prepare and post accruals to ensure the month-end results show the clear and fair picture
- Liaising with external Auditors and coordinating the audit work
- Improve benefits of globalized system processes
About You
- University / College degree in finance / business
- 2-3 years working experience in a multinational environment, preferably in FMCG sector, with exposure to some of the following areas: Financial Accounting / Reporting, and/or Financial Controlling
- Strong analytical and influencing skills
- Internal / external audit experience and/or SOX is a plus
- Experience in a Shared services environment is considered as an advantage
- Proficient English knowledge
