Role Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing all contractual and compensation aspects of Senior Leader new hires, job changes, ad-hoc reviews and exits across around 20 countries. This includes making recommendations on offer proposals, preparing employment documentation (contracts, assignment letter etc) and managing other out of cycle queries.
  • Working closely and at pace with experts across the globe from areas such as legal, tax, immigration and mobility to solve complex problems by distilling advice into digestible and commercial recommendations and overseeing implementation.
  • Managing the annual reward cycle reward recommendations process for the Senior Leader population (including benchmarking, alignment with talent strategy, engagement with senior collaborators).
  • Working closely with the global share plans team and global talent team to lead the design and application of key discretionary equity incentive plans (including the Diageo Executive Long Term Incentive Plan and Discretionary Incentive Plan) for the broader senior employee population.
  • Responsible for discretionary share plan governance, including key plan documentation and communications, management of discretionary treatment through engagement with the Routine Business Committee, and the design and implementation of new joiner buyout award principles.
  • Supporting the Executive Reward Director with ad-hoc projects throughout the year, which will include research and analysis, together with the development of recommendations.


Experience / skills required:
  • A personal passion for reward and the impact it can have on business performance and individual engagement.
  • A background in reward, legal, consultancy or tax, or prior executive reward experience - ideally having managed a Senior Leader population remit before.
  • Intellectual curiosity, to understand and be able to practically apply knowledge of a broad range of complex topics (including legal, immigration and tax matters).
  • Strong ability to review and analyse legal documentation including employment contracts, plan rules and other employment documentation.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills - a first-rate attention to detail whilst also considering the bigger possibility and application of data.
  • Financially astute - able to understand business performance measures and financial instruments e.g. share options.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work and conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent relationship building and partner management abilities - comfortable working with senior partners.
  • Strong IT skills - specifically Excel, PowerPoint and HR systems knowledge (preferably Workday).
  • Self-reliant, curious and pro-active, able to lead and take individual accountability for the delivery of outcomes.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, leading through complex issues and creative problem solving.
  • Articulate and persuasive with strong written and oral communication skills.
