About the role

We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a time-served Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Supply Chain and Manufacturing team at Shieldhall!

Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing, and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. Over half of Diageo's 30,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. It's an intricate and sophisticated operation that's the product of logistical, manufacturing, and technical collaborations.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of site assets to ensure optimal performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and play a key role in the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead problem-solving efforts to address electrical system issues and improve asset reliability.


  • Mentor the team on electrical systems, best practices, and safety standards.


  • Collaborate closely with operations, CAPEX, and maintenance teams to drive performance, improvement, and efficiency.


  • Ensure that all requested maintenance tasks are delivered with minimal disruption to production.


  • Lead the availability of necessary spare parts in line with the weekly/daily asset care delivery plan.


  • Use SAP-PM (our Computerised Maintenance Management System) to raise, update, and track all maintenance tasks as per the asset care delivery plan.


This role will allow you to contribute significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations while ensuring the continued reliability of our electrical systems.

Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI's are achieved.

Shifts

As a Weekend Electrical Engineer, you will work a total of 38 hours per week working double day shifts, alternating weekly,

  • Week 1, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM


  • Week 2, 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM


About You

To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone who brings:

  • A time-served qualification, such as a recognised SVQ, hands-on apprenticeship, or equivalent.


  • Shown experience in a production environment, with a clear understanding of asset performance and maintenance.


  • A background in data analysis and familiarity with tools like Excel, Word, and SAP (desirable).


  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.


  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a team, while also making sound decisions and solving problems independently.


  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the site.


  • A proactive attitude, eager to contribute ideas for improvement and drive positive change in manufacturing practices.
