About the role

We're delighted to share a fantastic role we have available for a time-served Electrical Engineer to join our Packaging Team team at Shieldhall!

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll ensure the maintenance, repair, and improvement of site assets for optimal performance. You'll lead problem-solving efforts, enhance asset availability, and mentor the team on electrical systems and safety practices. A fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and be a key part of our success!

In this role, you will collaborate closely with operations, CAPEX, and maintenance teams to drive performance, improvement and efficiency. Ensuring that all requested maintenance is delivered with minimal impact on production, and work to guarantee the availability of necessary spare parts as per our weekly/daily the asset care delivery plan.

Using SAP-PM (our Computerised Maintenance Management System), you'll raise, update, and track all maintenance tasks in line with the weekly asset care delivery plan.

Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI's are achieved.

Shifts

As a Weekend Electrical Engineer, you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm with rotating nights from 7 pm to 7 am for a competitive salary + shift allowance.

About You

To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone who brings:
  • A time-served qualification, such as a recognised SVQ, hands-on apprenticeship, or equivalent.
  • Shown experience in a production environment, with a clear understanding of asset performance and maintenance.
  • A background in data analysis and familiarity with tools like Excel, Word, and SAP (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a team, while also making sound decisions and solving problems independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the site.
  • A proactive attitude, eager to contribute ideas for improvement and drive positive change in manufacturing practices.

At Diageo, we value skills and experience, and we encourage applicants from a diverse set of backgrounds to apply. If you're passionate about applying your expertise in a packaging environment, we'd love to hear from you!
