Purpose of Role

The Manager eCommerce will lead the development and management Diageo's eCommerce relationships across key third party marketplace and strategic account retailers. Primary responsibility will be account management to understand our partners goals and strategy and provide linkage to all of the brand, portfolio, insights and programs that Diageo has to offer in the eCommerce space.

The successful candidate should demonstrate previous success in developing relationships and managing complex projects with multiple partners across all levels of an organization. Ideally, they should understand the necessary steps required to launch/manage an eCommerce portal and be able lead all partners through the process seamlessly.

Dimensions:
Financial
  • A&P budgets associated with implementing best in class content and catalog on-line with third party marketplaces

Complexity
  • Proven capabilities in leading/developing cross-functional teams, setting goals, solving problems
  • Build relationships and influence decision makers internally and externally across all levels of an organization
  • Work in close partnership with eCommerce Strategy and Digital Conversion Marketing teams to ensure customer needs are being met in a timely fashion
  • Should understand how each function within an organization operates with a keen ability to make connections as needed to drive the ultimate project goal

Leadership Responsibilities and Decision Making Rights
  • Build relationships and influence decision making internally and at our key customers
  • Lean in to "stand in the future" and develop a vision for how a prospective customer can grow their/Diageo's business
  • Strong analytical/thought leadership

Accountabilities
  • Build and lead partnerships with emerging digital and eCommerce platforms and retailer in the beverage alcohol and food delivery space
  • Sets vision and goals for engagement, defines required actions and leads to completion - > Set vision, account strategy, structure partnerships and execute against account goals. Continually explore new opportunities to test.
  • Coordinates resources within Diageo as needed to align to brand and commercial marketing plans and objectives
  • Ongoing performance and financial analysis of key accounts, ensuring we are driving to broader team objectives.
  • Provides insights and opportunity identification to the eCommerce Strategy and Digital Conversion Marketing teams to inform annual planning process.
  • Stay on the forefront of digital, eCommerce and emerging beverage alcohol trends and continue to bring insights and data back into the organization.


Qualifications and Experience Required
College graduate with 7-10 years relevant experience that should include:
  • Proven success in developing eCommerce retailer relationships
  • Experience interacting with C-level executives in traditional corporate settings and start-up situations
  • Excellent project management skills with some experience in tech industries
  • Negotiation and selling skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Sales experience with major CPG or beverage category a plus
