The Customer Marketing Associate will create national below the line (BTL) programs based on consumer, shopper, and customer insights to help Diageo and our customers win at the moment of choice. They will also support the execution of the World Class Cocktail Programs!
Purpose
To assist the Customer Marketing Manager (CMM) - Prestige Brands (75%) and World Class Team (25%). In the Customer Marketing role, they will develop BTL branded programs that align with the brand strategy in retail, On Premise (OP) and other customer settings. The CM Associate will help create and implement these programs with their brand partners and produce the sales materials for gold standard execution. They will also communicate these programs to Diageo Canada and our Broker partner with proper lead-times: nine months "planned", six months "ready" and two months "execute". In the World Class portion of the role, they will implement the World Class Cocktail retail programming and support the World Class Cocktail Competition execution lead by the On-Premise and Reserve Manager. This is done in a hybrid working environment with 3 days a week in the Toronto office.

Team Responsibility
- Reports into the Customer Marketing Manager (CMM) - Prestige Brands
- Works collaboratively with Customer Marketing Managers to get all relevant tools & information to build selling tools & program materials
- Leadership standards to be shown, include inspiring a cohesive team culture
Complexity of Role
- Needs to work collaboratively with multiple partners to gather information to build selling materials and program assets
- Requires an understanding of building professional and polished PowerPoint Decks
Key Outputs/Expectations
- Contributing to the national BTL strategy within the total Brand Plan
- Supporting the National BTL programs including POS Tools, displays, creative, selling materials delivered on-time and in-full
- Assisting with the National BTL Budget Management
- Providing input for incremental National Retail and OP programs for their respective brands/categories to help close gaps and/or capitalize on existing or new opportunities
- Preparing National content for sell sheets, selling decks and launch kits
- Following deadlines to coincide with our continual planning cycle and executional calendar of 9 months planned, 6 months ready, 2 months implement
- Collaborating with the Diageo Canada and Broker Sales teams to build tools and programs that drive our Big Bet, Core, Reserve and Innovation agenda
- Collaborating with our Diageo sales and Broker teams to develop plans that improve Diageo's visibility at points of Shopper engagement, both Retail and On Premise
- Participating in the development of customer focused experiential events to support our brand strategies
- Communicating program tools and objectives to Diageo and our Broker nationally
- Maintaining and building relationships with key Below-the-Line (BTL) agencies and CPG partners
- Creating all the elements required for Retail and OP programs within Canadian regulation and the Diageo Marketing Code, including:
- BTL Creative
- Print-on-Demand (POD) Assets
- POS Tool selections, including approved packaging design where necessary
- In-Store Displays
- Kitted programs for brand execution
- Selling material content
- "Bringing Diageo brands to life" with our Liquor Jurisdictions and OP customers
- Championing our Canadian compliance agenda in all that we do
- Hybrid work environment with the expectation to be in the Toronto office 3x/week
Experience
- Undergraduate degree (BComm/BA) required
- 1-3 years' work experience (can include paid, volunteer, co-op etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
- Strong written communication skills
- Self-Starter
- Well organized and possess the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
- The ideal candidate will need to possess strong leadership competencies, and strong team and analytical skills; strategic thinking skills; proactivity and enthusiasm for work in a fast moving, dynamic environment; the ability to communicate effectively, especially as part of a team; ability to be creative.
