Purpose of the Role
To support the Corporate Relations Director in delivering an effective public affairs strategy that protects and enhances Diageo's corporate reputation in Thailand. This role will focus on engaging key stakeholders, shaping regulatory and policy developments, and advancing industry advocacy efforts to drive a favorable operating environment for the business.
Role Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, trade associations, media, and NGOs to influence policy decisions and regulatory outcomes.
- Support the Corporate Relations Director in positioning Diageo as a trusted industry leader in responsible alcohol policy.
- Represent Diageo in industry forums, trade associations, and regulatory discussions to ensure alignment with the company's business priorities.
Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs
- Monitor, analyze, and assess the impact of evolving alcohol-related regulatory and policy changes on Diageo's business operations.
- Develop policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials to effectively communicate Diageo's stance on key regulatory issues.
- Support strategic initiatives to mitigate risks related to tariff, trade, and alcohol regulation
Corporate Reputation & Communications
- Assist in the execution of corporate communications strategies that reinforce Diageo's leadership in positive drinking, sustainability initiatives, communications - externally and internally.
- Draft and refine internal and external communications, including press materials, speeches, and executive briefings.
- Work closely with HR, Marketing and cross functions to ensure alignment between public affairs efforts and overall corporate brand positioning.
Compliance & Corporate Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards in all advocacy and stakeholder engagement activities.
Experience / skills required
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in corporate affairs, government relations, public policy, or regulatory engagement.
- Understanding of Thailand's political and regulatory landscape, with experience engaging government agencies and trade bodies.
- Proven ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies that drive tangible policy progress or outcomes.
- Good level of written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience in crafting policy documents and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic and fast-evolving policy environment.
- Ability to craft compelling narratives that align with business objectives and public policy priorities.
