About the role
Overview
The Commercial Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth. This role requires a strong analytical approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
What you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with financial software systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage several priorities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Business Partnering & Management of Stakeholders - Commercial finance partner to the sub-channel commercial controllers, working with the wider commercial team on an ongoing basis. Provide financial support and guidance to the business unit to drive financial performance and effective decision making.
- Performance Analysis - P&L ownership, working with FP&A, financial control and the commercial team to understand and challenge the key drivers of customer and channel performance on a monthly basis. Identify actionable insights and partner with the commercial and the revenue & growth management team to ensure action is taken to help drive sustainable growth.
- Monthly Reporting - Managing Stock in Trade, Stock at Risk, Daily Sales and Monthly Forecasting reporting. Producing key reports throughout the month to help manage the performance cycle and to measure the performance against our key important metrics. Identifying actions to address business risks where identified.
- Forecasting - Help to lead the monthly forecasting cycle, finding opportunities and risks to the delivery of the budget and ensuring actions are taken to materialise the opportunities and mitigate the risks.
- Improvement in Process- Support the Head of Commercial Finance across both business and functional priorities, driving continuous improvement and productivity within the Take Home Trade and the finance function.
- Commercial Planning - Support the implementation of a commercial planning system and the implementation of enhancements to drive better planning and trade investment return on investment analysis.
