Role Purpose:
To provide tactical operations, business support, and ensure bulk liquid is being transported to support Diageo's manufacturing needs, while focusing on achieving NA Supply's cost and service goals!
Decision Making:
The role of the Bulk Ocean Transportation Analyst will be expected to provide transportation input and support for Logistics and NA Supply operations and initiatives for liquids that will be imported and exported!
Key Outputs:
- Support seamless execution of Diageo's bulk ocean transportation operations for both import and export.
- Support delivery of Transportation's financial and service targets
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Diageo's transportation partners

- With collaboration of transportation partners develop, maintain, review metrics regularly to identify and implement areas for improvement.
Financial Responsibility:
- Coordinate invoice payment of transportation vendors
- Help develop AOP
- Track transportation expenses vs. AOP
- Provide costing estimates to other Diageo departments
- Perform various cost analyses
Management Responsibility:
- This position reports to the Manager of Bulk Transportation Operations
- This position will actively handle 3rd party transportation suppliers
- This position has no direct reports
Complexity of Role:
The role of Bulk Ocean Transportation Analyst will intersect with many departments across greater NA Supply, as well as Global Supply. The primary objective of the role is to facilitate the smooth performance of the transportation link in Diageo's supply chain. Key to achieving this objective is establishment of effective relationships with our key stakeholders. These stakeholders include third party logistics providers, Diageo Production Site colleagues, Diageo Quality, Global and Domestic Procurement and the Innovation & Conversion teams.
Diageo's supply chain is dynamic. Our bulk transportation operations need to be flexible and agile in order to provide effective support to the business. The Bulk Ocean Transportation Analyst role is accountable for working with our transportation providers to ensure they adapt to Diageo's changing business needs. This role is one of two Bulk Transportation Analyst positions. Each analyst will have tactical responsibility for a subset of Diageo's transportation operations.
While many of our transportation operations are well established and mature, there is no shortage of opportunities to improve our cost base and service levels. As such, the Bulk Ocean Transportation Analyst will also become involved in various projects designed to drive continuous improvement.
The Transportation Analyst position is based in Stamford, CT and travel will be minimal (~10% of the time).
Qualifications and Experience:
- 2-5 years of practical supply chain experience and relevant undergraduate degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage & build third party relationships
- Understanding of general financial and accounting principles
- Project management experience
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
