Context/Scope:
This role supports the Balcones operations site on all continuous improvement initiatives as a new site within the Diageo supply chain network. This role will be responsible for establishing and implementing continuous improvement practices, and then continue to build as the site progresses through the continuous improvement agenda.

Job Description:

At the Balcones site, this role will:
- Interface directly with middle and senior management to improve and deploy best in class practices and standards.
- Support and execution of capability building programs aligned with business digital transformation objectives and site mission
- Act as the driving force behind strategic, operational and organizational initiatives.
- Provide insight through analytics and drive continuous improvement implementation efforts.
- Improve performance in terms of both line efficiency and line OEE.
- Act as the site representative on relevant regional teams.
- Standardize ways of working based on best in class practices, inputs from the participants, and the global PTS framework.
- Ensure all procedures and ways of working are properly documented, kept up-to-date and accessible to all the users through relevant systems.
- Improve capability of the operators, Team Leaders and Management teams by defining a standardized up-skilling program.
- Provide technical support and seen as the subject matter expert in all aspects of ManEx.
- During launch, hands on support in Tier meetings.
- Support operations on strategically critical business needs.
- Support and model behaviors to deliver Zero Harm.
- Collaborate with operational partners to deliver against critical metric objectives for the line.
- Drive reduction in targeted waste streams.
- Support, coach, and track root cause problem solving to permanently address issues within the operation.
- Through implementation of lean techniques, optimize safety, quality, production, distillation and cost objectives through employee involvement and team building approach to problem solving.
- Direct the planning and implementation of key initiatives to improve site operations.
- Remain abreast of industry changes and new technology, equipment, systems, and procedures as they relate to improving the key operations.
- Link with planning and development guidelines (cycle schedules, sequencing, etc.) are clear for effective planning of operations.
- Follow, coach, and train Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), and follow general housekeeping guidelines and rules for Food Safety Regulations. Keep area updated with 5S.
Qualifications:
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferably in Engineering or related field with advanced training and experience in Lean Manufacturing / CI (Lean/Six Sigma Certification). Experienced at CPG preferred.
- 5+ years track record across a range of Engineering or Manufacturing disciplines preferably in the beverage / food business or CPG companies, including time in both a front-line and management role.
- Solid, demonstrated experience in implementing world class tools and lean manufacturing techniques and managing site wide change initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills, particularly creating possibilities and change management, consistently delivering great performance and managing people for success.
- Must have exceptional influencing skills and be proficient in presentation and training others.
- Demonstrated leadership and role modeling in breakthrough performance coaching to build higher performing teams.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative).
- Self-motivated and able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment.
