SBL was incorporated in 1988 as Associated Breweries Limited and changed its name to Serengeti Breweries Limited in 2002 and commenced commercial operations in 1996 with one brewery in Dar es Salaam. The company was acquired by EABL in October 2010 and has three breweries located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Moshi.

SBL flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brand portfolios include Guinness and Plisner. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor of several global Diageo international renowned spirit brands such as Johnnie Walker®, Smirnoff Vodka®, Bailey's Irish Cream ®, Richot®, Bond 7 Whiskey® and Gilbeys Gin®.

About the role

Role Responsibilities
  • Receiving invoices from the vendors and perform quality checks i.e., PO, EFD receipt, TIN, VRN invoices for SBL are collected and quality checked against a valid PO and vendor code.
  • Identified exceptions and report to the vendor or escalated to the Procurement team for follow up.
  • Coding of different taxes applicable on the invoices (WHT, VAT or Zero-rated)
  • Scanning/sending of invoices which meets tax and PTP Governance requirements.
  • Reconciliation with Invoice processing team to ensure all scanned invoices have been posted and all issues identified are addressed.
  • Adequate record keeping and supporting audit trail meets compliance and regulatory obligations and embeds the correct process of record management in SBL.
  • Printing of treasury instructions and get the signatories to sign and work on dispatching to the banks.
  • Printing payment instructions for farmers and vendors under Supplier Financing scheme and get the signatories to sign and onward dispatching to CITI bank.
  • Resolution of vendors issues in cooperation with DBSI and procurement.
  • With support from treasury managing all vendor payment.

Qualifications and Experience Required
  • 5 Years' experience working in customer facing service roles.
  • Degree level with strong academic record
  • Highly numerate / strong analytical skills / comfortable with detail but able to interpret detail for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong systems skills (SAP in particular)
  • Strong understanding of Diageo Global processes (STP & Data)
