Overview

Within Deutsche Bank's risk division, Model Risk Management (MoRM) works globally with all business and infrastructure divisions. MoRM is responsible for independent model validation across all risk types, the measurement and reporting of model risk across Deutsche Bank, and for conducting strong model risk governance.

The role for the Model Risk Management Specialist requires experience in model validation and model risk governance. Experience with transformation, project management, active stakeholder engagement, as well as leading various councils and working groups are desired. While the focus is comprehensive capital analysis review (CCAR), capital planning, and stress testing, you will also contribute to other non-CCAR programs and projects.

What You'll Do:
  • Act as subject matter expert on the requirements of SR 11-7, SR 15-19, and Deutsche Bank's model risk management standards, supporting the Bank's compliance with supervisory and Deutsche Bank MoRM's expectations
  • Lead and facilitate various forums, including trainings, working groups, and councils in support of validation and the CCAR validation book of work
  • Project manage the MoRM validation book of work, including tracking, monitoring, and reporting on statuses
  • Contribute on various regulatory and change deliverables, supporting the implementation of enhancements to existing model risk management framework and processes
  • Actively engage and manage CCAR stakeholders such as model owners, developers, and users throughout the model lifecycle, this includes socialization of MoRM framework and process, leading regular touchpoints with internal stakeholders, and facilitating the validation peer review and qualitative review and challenge processes
  • Provide independent review and validation of models, communicate results with stakeholders, senior management, and audit, and prepare model validation reports and other materials, as required

How You'll Lead:
  • Lead and facilitate various forums, including trainings, working groups, and councils in support of validation and the CCAR validation book of work
  • Actively engage and manage CCAR stakeholders such as model owners, developers, and users throughout the model lifecycle, this includes socialization of MoRM framework and process, leading regular touchpoints with internal stakeholders, and facilitating the validation peer review and qualitative review and challenge processes

Skills You'll Need:
  • Experience in model risk (and risk management in general), governance, transformation, project management, active stakeholder management, as well as leading governance forums/working groups required
  • Sound understanding of SR 11-7 and SR 15-19
  • Experience in capital planning & stress testing (i.e., CCAR)
  • Experience with development or validation of various model types
  • Graduate degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent qualification/work experience

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
