Technology Asset Manager

The Technology Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of technology assets, including hardware, software, and related resources. This role involves tracking, managing, and optimizing technology investments to ensure they meet organizational needs and deliver maximum value. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management: Oversee the procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposal of technology assets, including computers, servers, software licenses, and peripherals.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all technology assets are compliant with internal policies and external regulations. Maintain detailed documentation related to asset acquisition, usage, and disposal.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and/or manage the technology asset budget. Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to acquire assets and services. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of service.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on asset utilization, inventory status, and financial performance. Provide insights and recommendations for improving asset management practices.
  • Support and Training: Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding asset management practices. Conduct training sessions to ensure proper handling and use of technology asset
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to technology asset management, such as asset migrations, upgrades, and system implementations.
  • Collaborate with I&O stakeholders to ensure data integrity of assets is maintained: Establish Clean Communication Channels, Define Roles and Responsibility, Implement Data Quality Measures, Leverage Technology, Educate Stakeholders, Monitor and Review.
  • Maintain relationship between Planview and Flexera: Knowledge of Flexera Data Platform database structure to develop SQL exports from Data Platform to Planview.
  • Develop and maintain 'breadcrumb' scripts: Used to defined local applications or those that cannot be identified via the ARL.
  • Integration with ITSM, Reporting Areas: Development of SQL and REST API scripts using VS Code for reporting and integration between systems.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with technology asset management professionals to deliver TAM capabilities and drive improved business outcomes.
  • Proven familiarity with IT asset management software and tools (e.g., Flexera, Ivanti, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of technology contracts and their potential cost implications throughout the technology asset life cycle.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with procurement, legal, tax, and accountancy advisers to gather additional information and ensure comprehensive asset management.
  • Expertise in asset life cycle management, encompassing best practices and governance for digital technology, information, financial, or physical assets.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as servers, storage, networks, and software licensing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and processes related to digital technology asset life cycle management, including supporting tools and services.
  • Skilled in reviewing technology contracts and analyzing their likely cost implications through the technology asset life cycle.
  • Ability to understand strategic business objectives and develop, articulate, and execute a vision and strategy for TAM that aligns with those objectives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels in a matrix management environment, including external vendors and service providers, to ensure effective role coordination.
  • Experience in managing both technology and business stakeholders to align TAM strategies with organizational goals.
  • Expertise in strategic relationship management, particularly in working with software vendors during license compliance audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change within the TAM function, ensuring its development and maturity in response to organizational and technology challenges.
  • Strong ability to clearly present written information, findings, and remediation plans to management at all levels, both within and outside of the technology function.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $92,000 - $196,500
