The Manager, Product Management is responsible for managing a team of Product Managers to enable business outcomes from concept through technology delivery while driving team execution on product strategy and roadmap vision. This role will contribute to the product roadmap prioritization through collaborative analysis with Product Directors and in partnership with business stakeholders and other teams, to deliver key strategic initiatives focused on creating and delivering high quality member and provider experiences. In this role you will be a specialist at managing and solving complex problems despite constraints, like competing stakeholder needs and resources. You'll empower your team to break large work requests into manageable parts and develop robust implementation and launch plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the product roadmaps across complex systems /business capabilities and ensures that product execution supports the enterprise goals and strategies of the organization that reflect market intelligence and customer needs.
  • Manages a team of product managers and fosters development of direct reports through ongoing coaching and feedback on performance. Directs reports to establish processes to standardize common workflows (e.g. intake, requirements documentation).
  • Provides strategic guidance and clarity on how individual team member roles align to enterprise strategy set forth by director and VP leadership.
  • Is accountable for product development by coordinating with enterprise business stakeholders including multiple centers of excellence to successfully release new features and products that meet KPIs.
  • Coaches, defines, establishes, and analyzes, and KPIs across multiple complex products with a broad scope to determine experience success, failures, and next steps through iteration.
  • Creates and maintains enterprise operational and functional metrics; maintains financial business case and evaluates ROI for future capability spend.
  • Owns, defines, and manages technical debt within product roadmaps, business cases and support backlogs.
  • Initiates technical programs by leading alignment on program scope, release planning, aligning one or more teams on vision, business goals, creating program structure, and securing cross-functional support.
  • Provides visibility to program status (key decisions, release/production issues, dependencies, risks, metrics, milestones, etc.) on an ongoing basis through push status reporting (to all stakeholders, team members, and interested parties).
  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with functional leaders (including Business Directors, Senior Product Managers, Technology Managers, and other Product Managers), across the enterprise to drive focus on business objectives. Operates as an escalation point across all enterprise program related concerns.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience collaborating with product, design, and software engineering teams, including a minimum of 5 years managing product or design teams and overseeing large, cross-functional projects.
  • Experience building software technologies and products at scale, with a strong track record of project delivery.
  • 1+ years of supervisory/management experience.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to deliver exceptional experiences, with excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and a bias toward action.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and interact effectively with co-workers and external contacts.
  • Political savvy and ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 23. $106,400 - $230,600 national range.
