The Director of Provider Onboarding is responsible for overseeing all activities associated with strategic management of Provider Contracting and Credentialing teams. This position works to ensure effective and efficient operations related to Provider Contracting and Credentialing services, along with provider directory management and support for large dental service organizations (DSO). This position provides strategic direction and oversight to meet business goals and facilitate accurate and efficient processing for all providers and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs staff and initiatives to efficiently manage provider contracting service levels and adherence to contractual and compliance expectations. This includes oversight of all aspects of provider contracting, credentialing (including delegated relationships), onboarding of new provider groups, compliance and audit adherence, provider communications, related vendor relationships and performance guarantee oversight.
  • Performs strategic planning for the Provider Onboarding function, including enterprise business alignment activities and innovative solutioning.
  • Provides recommendations to senior management on large, high-profile or complex scenarios.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements industry best practices and continuous process improvements with focus on customer experience and expectations.
  • Partners with internal and external stakeholders to drive solutions in an effort to meet market demands or issue resolution as a subject matter expert.
  • Leads business process improvement initiatives and provides requirements for system enhancements to execute new application development and implementation, data conversions and system upgrades.
  • Drives cross-functional alignment around initiatives: setting strategy, formulating a plan, executing, and monitoring progress.
  • Develops, monitors, and reconciles an annual operating plan and budget; identifies variances and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Provides vision and leads cross functional stakeholders to identify analytical and reporting needs that translate to data requirements needed to make tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards in support of regulatory and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of related experience w/bachelor's degree. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • 9-12 years of experience working in provider contracting and/or credentialing processes
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to prepare and manage budgets
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Strong public speaking and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of project development life cycle, including the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects
  • Knowledge of provider credentialing and contracting processes and compliance requirements

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $122,400 - $265,100
