(This position embraces a flexible hybrid working model, allowing for significant remote work opportunities. However, weekly in-office visits will occur for team meetings, office celebrations, and specific project requirements. A candidate residing near Alpharetta, GA would be highly preferred)

As Data Governance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of procedures that ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of our data. You will assist in maintaining best practices for data access and contribute to the establishment and sustainability of a data governance program. This program aims to identify, define, manage, and publish data standards and policies.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Stewards and the Data Governance Centre of Excellence, to build and maintain effective data solutions.
  • Collibra Management: Support the management and maintenance of the Collibra tool, including building and maintaining data governance workflows, integrations, master data definitions, and corresponding metadata.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Provide technical and functional support to ensure the quality and availability of data. Assist in performing data quality assessments, data profiling, and data lineage documentation.
  • Data Integration: Assist in the development and maintenance of data integration processes, ensuring seamless data flow across systems and adherence to data governance standards.
  • Automation and Scripting: Utilize Java and Groovy scripting languages to develop and support automation and workflow processes for data management.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist in identifying and resolving data issues, collaborating with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with data governance policies and procedures, reporting on adherence and suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data governance and data management. Suggest and implement improvements to existing processes.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven professional experience in technical data governance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Collibra is required.
  • Advanced experience in developing custom Collibra workflows to enhance data governance processes.
  • Proficiency in Java and Groovy scripting for automation and integration within data governance solutions.
  • Strong expertise in building custom integration frameworks using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Extensive experience in SQL and a deep understanding of relational database structures and their applications in enterprise data management.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Oracle Database, and SQL Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of data quality, data profiling, and data lineage concepts
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing complex data governance challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. Pay Grade 21. $80,500 - $174,300
