Delta Air Lines is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join the Flight Operations Learning Team as a Co-Op, Data Visualization Specialist at our General Offices in Atlanta, GA.
The Flight Operations Learning Team is primarily responsible for the development, design, and delivery of all training for our 15,000+ pilots. We are looking for a Co-Op to provide support in all areas of Training Reporting and Analytics (but not limited to) data validation, database creations, tracking/performance reporting and data visualization dashboards development.

- Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models, and reporting.
- Develop new basic analytical tools/models or modify existing ones.
- Assist with design and creation of visualization dashboards using various BI Tools (Tableau, Microsoft, etc.) that connect our people with the insights they need.
- Develop reporting to help support adoption tracking of new tools.
- Continually innovate to enhance the report creation process using automation, formulas, and VBA/Macro development to reduce time spent on repeatable tasks (efficiencies)
- Engage in data validation, quality assurance, and documentation efforts to ensure precise and consistent analytical outcomes.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the below schedule:
- Fall 2024 - 1st rotation
- Summer 2025 - 2nd rotation
- Spring 2026 - 3rd rotation
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Undergraduate students in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Statistics, Aviation management, or similar in a 4-year degree program (Note: this role is not intended for a student pursuing a professional pilot career)
- Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of basic functionality skills in Tableau, SAS, SQL Developer, R, Python, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Internally curious, ready to learn and not afraid to think outside the box to bring forward imaginative and innovative ideas.
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Previous experience with Data Visualization Tools (Tableau)
- Advanced applications (e.g., statistical analysis, optimization, linear regression, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence)
