Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in San Jose, CA.

Work You'll Do

Align global effective tax rate reduction and efficient global cash utilization with overall business strategy. Help multinational clients integrate tax planning into their overall business strategy and comply with both U.S. and international regulatory requirements. Assist companies with international compliance, research, consulting and planning issues. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations. Coordinate U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Mentor and coach junior team members.

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience performing tax planning, reporting and compliance for U.S. multinational corporations.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Preparing and reviewing US tax compliance workpaper for clients and forms including Form 1120 and 1065, K-1 using GoSystem, OneSource and CCH;
    • Preparing international tax compliance forms and informational returns including Form 1120F, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8992, 8993, 1118, and 8621, and related calculation analyses;
    • Researching and analyzing US tax regulations, and providing analysis to client regarding compliance with U.S. tax regulations;
    • Analyzing client's financial positions and composed appropriate elimination entries and other appropriated adjustments according to US tax regulations;
    • Utilizing CCH, BNA and RIA Checkpoint to research U.S. federal income tax issues or analyze tax rules and regulations of foreign jurisdictions;
    • Assisting with research on various US Federal or international tax issues including TCJA, Section 174, subpart F, optimal tax structuring for corporations, corporate reorganizations, and U.S. permanent establishments;
    • Auditing annual accrual of accounting to calculate income taxes on US or foreign operations in support of Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740 positions;
    • Reviewing proposed merger and acquisition documents and client data to identify contributions made and to satisfy US tax compliance requirements; and
    • Auditing client prepared work papers, including R&D credit and deferred tax asset utilization capacity analysis.
  • Salary: $101,670.00 - $167,180.00/year
