Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Boston, Massachusetts.

Work You'll Do

Provide tax compliance services to Private Equity clients by acting as the first level of review on all client related items, including Form 1065 and Schedule K-1s. Build relationships with other service line offerings, including International, Multi State and Global Reporting, to provide full-service offerings to our clients and develop technical growth. Keep up-to-date on tax regulations and current marketplace happenings to identify opportunities to add value to clients' business and tax profile. Mentor and coach junior staff and escalate issues when necessary. Assist with operations metrics and staying connected with our overseas teams. Conduct trainings and informational sessions on workpapers preparation, tax knowledge and software usage. Ensure smooth workflow of client engagements by effectively acting as a liaison between staff and managers. Use technology to comply with Deloitte and clients' sensitive information safeguards and tax compliance standards. Involved with technology efficiencies to service specific clients' needs in streamlining workflows. Assist with the economics of the engagements by working with managers and senior managers to review billing and analyze out of scope time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Preparing federal, state and international informational tax forms for private equity clients, including Schedules K-1, K-2, and K-3, and Forms 1065, 1120, 8082, 8621, 8865, and 8886;
    • Reviewing taxable income calculations and allocations for investment partnerships;
    • Reviewing complex partnership computations under Sec. 704(c) and basis adjustment computations under IRC Sec. 743(b) and Sec. 734(b);
    • Preparing tax workpapers and tax allocations, including waterfall calculations, carry incentives, management fee allocations, and preferred returns;
    • Preparing technical memos addressing complex transactions, for partnerships and private equity clients;
    • Utilizing tax software and research tools, including GoSystem, Tax RS, BNA, and CCH, to provide tax consulting services to clients;
    • Preparing international tax reporting Forms 1042, 1042-S, 8804 and 8805 and tax withholding forms for partnerships;
    • Performing tax analysis and reviewing multi-tiered partnerships; and
    • Mentoring, coaching, and training junior staff members on tax software and technical topics.
