Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.
Work You'll Do
Provide tax planning and consulting work for multinational clients in order to help them comply with both U.S. and international regulatory requirements and develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Advise clients on areas such as intellectual property ("IP") migration (migrating from a legal ownership model of IP to a risk-return model as recommended by the OECD under the BEPS program). Develop models for international tax compliance efforts and issues to automate and streamline various tax processes using Excel functionalities and VBA programming. Complete the ASC 740 packages, rolling over tax provision data, patching foreign exchange rates, and generating tax packages. Perform research on technical areas such as foreign tax credits, expense allocation and apportionment. Review the work product of consultants and interns on foreign tax credit and overall foreign loss projects. Lead client service teams in implementing global income tax provision tools including overseeing the completion of tax provision packages, enhancing the tax provision tools, assisting with client trainings, and responding to technical questions raised by clients. Assist with Earnings and Profits ("E&P") projects by mentoring and coaching junior team members on E&P technical areas, reviewing their work product, and preparing the deliverables (E&P memos and work papers).

Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Eighteen (18) months as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining tax consulting experience.
- Experience must include eighteen (18) months of:
- Utilizing tax research tools, including BNA, CCH and LexisNexis to research tax technical issues, including foreign tax credits, expense allocation and apportionment, and Earnings and Profits (E&Ps);
- Assisting clients preparing global income tax provisions/estimates as required under ASC 740, including assisting with the calculation of taxes payable, general ledger reconciliations, and effective tax rate reconciliations;
- Utilizing concepts of income tax provision under ASC 740 and corporate income tax in various jurisdictions to calculate and model tax liabilities under applicable regulations;
- Analyzing work papers to calculate foreign-derived intangible income (FDII), Section 861 deductions, interest expense allocation and effectively connected income (ECI) to estimate the U.S. income tax liability of both U.S. and foreign corporations;
- Preparing Schedule K-1s and K-3s for domestic and foreign partnerships;
- Preparing U.S. tax returns and informational filing, including Forms 1120, 1065, 8858, 8865, 8804, 8805, 8990, 8991, 7004, and applicable statements and elections; and
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members
- Position requires approximately 15% domestic travel.
- Salary: $90,020.00 - $167,180.00.00/year
