Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.

Work You'll Do

Align global effective tax rate reduction and efficient global cash utilization with overall business strategy. Help multinational clients integrate tax planning into their overall business strategy and comply with both U.S. and international regulatory requirements. Assist companies with international compliance, research, consulting and planning issues. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations. Coordinate U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Mentor and coach junior team members.

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent, including a 3-year foreign degree)
  • Eighteen months as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing customer work papers and tax returns (willing to accept pre- and post-Bachelor's experience)
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Reviewing tax provision, distributing work papers for Regulated Investment Companies (RIC), and reviewing 1120 RIC tax returns and extensions;
    • Reviewing RIC fiscal and excise tax provision work papers;
    • Reviewing income and capital estimates of RIC distributions;
    • Reviewing work papers and other documents to support customer deliverables;
    • Participating in technical training to develop investment tax skills;
    • Reviewing financial statement disclosures and preparing and reviewing annual book-to-tax adjustment analysis by examining the taxability of investment income/expenses, securities transactions, and complex derivatives;
    • Reviewing quarterly and annual Internal Revenue Code asset compliance testing;
    • Preparing Subpart F calculations during work paper preparation; and
    • Supporting the team with daily activities involving data processing, project management, and meeting monthly objectives.
  • Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00/year
