Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Seattle, WA.
Work You'll Do
Assist multinational clients with the development of tax-aligned compensation and benefits programs that address their global and domestic needs. Work with clients to streamline their programs while managing tax effectiveness, risks, and costs. Manage internal resources and work directly with clients to provide expatriate and foreign-national tax compliance and consulting services to our multi-national clients. Possess the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, and implementation of client issues. Assist with the preparation and delivery of proposals for engagements and possess a working knowledge of the range of services offered by the organization. Review individual income tax returns, conduct US tax law research, manage tax consulting projects, and assist in the administration of company tax programs. Supervise assignments by Tax Consultants and Seniors and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance. Address individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process. Will commute within the Seattle, WA area to consult with clients regarding the above job duties.

Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Three years as Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience implementing and utilizing technology tools to calculate employer tax withholding and reporting obligations, including international mobile employee equity transactions
- Experience must include three years of:
- Delivering taxation advice to clients regarding equity compensation vehicles, including restricted stock units, stock options, stock appreciation rights, stock purchase plans, and performance share plans, and associated concepts, including vesting periods, payment of dividend equivalents, terminated employee provisions, and tax equalized employee policies;
- Defining and communicating tax rules and concepts and the impacts associated with various equity transactions on a global scale, including U.S. federal and state/local taxation relating to equity compensation, Black Scholes assumptions, net-share settling, IFRS 2 disclosure requirements, and S409A rules;
- Assisting clients with addressing reporting and tax filing requirements with international taxing authorities;
- Reviewing company equity plan rules and recharge agreements established with their global affiliates, branches, or subsidiaries and advising companies on associated tax treatment of equity awards for their employees in the respective countries;
- Assisting with the preparation and review of employee communications related to equity-based compensation;
- Assisting clients with implementation and maintenance of tax withholding and reporting calculating programs by performing data mapping, including use of Visio, XML inputs/outputs, architecture validation, data integration configuration, secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) set up, and system configuration;
- Performing and assisting with monitoring processing of option exercises and restricted stock unit lapses for clients;
- Assisting with client tax logic implementation, executing test cases, resolving issues, and preparing enhancements due to legislative updates;
- Assisting with the full life cycle of an engagement including staffing, budgeting and closing out projects; and
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside of normal commuting distance.
- Salary: $117,915.00 - $151,580.00/year.
