Life Sciences Market Access Senior Manager

An evolving customer and regulatory landscape, mounting pipeline of next-gen assets and portfolio pressures, and intensifying competition are presenting new organizational and operational hurdles for Life Sciences companies. These complex market dynamics are requiring new levels of rigor and insight in business strategy development and problem-solving, both domestically and globally, tailored to their specific TAs.

We are looking for practitioners who will work alongside Life Sciences organizations from bio-technology firms to global big pharma to medical devices, to drive business value through end-to-end delivery of solutions based on strategy development for heart of business issues. The preferred TAs of focus are Oncology, Rare Diseases, and Immunology.

Work you'll do

Our Market Access practice represents the fastest growing unit within the Life Sciences sector at Deloitte and is serving as a key growth pillar positioning us for expanded investment and growth. Working within the Market Access practice enables our practitioners to work in an entrepreneurial environment that rewards self-starters and innovation. Deloitte currently serves all of the top 25 biopharma manufacturers and is seeking to further expand our presence in the Market Access arena through the growth and development of our talent. We are seeking individuals to expand our network of Market Access focused Senior Managers to help us expand our footprint of client impact and results. Senior Managers serve at a critical junction across client engagements and have the opportunity to build a business that will serve as a foundation for future Partner level consideration.

Typical responsibilities of a Sr. Manager could include:

  • Design and establish engagement objectives and scope of work as part of business development process
  • Oversee multiple engagements each with its own multi-disciplinary, international team
  • Develop enduring customer relationships through client engagement work
  • Lead follow-on business development efforts with existing engagements and client referrals.
  • Lead team in development of quantitative and/or qualitative analysis (e.g., claims data analysis, market research data) to drive meaningful insights for our Life Sciences clients' biggest challenges
  • Develop work plans for strategic engagements, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope
  • Work closely with lead engagement partner to manage engagement resourcing and economics
  • Shape the intellectual agenda of the strategic solution, including design and present deliverable content to reflect the engagement contract and client needs
  • Strive to improve deliverable quality through verification and validation of results, leverage Deloitte's broad set of advisors to refine and improve insights
  • Contribute to the growth and development of junior team members through active feedback and contribution to performance assessments
  • Engage and drive meaningful exchange with c-suite clients through structured working sessions and strategic meetings
  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities with new or existing clients
  • Collaborate across Deloitte businesses to bring together strategy, tech, and agency capabilities
  • Help shape future customer strategy offerings and points of view on Life Sciences industry

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university with strong undergraduate academic record
  • 5-7+ years of US Market Access Strategy within a Consulting setting
  • 10+ years Life Sciences industry
  • History of leading large and complex consulting engagements
  • History of leading small, diverse teams, including through influence across matrix
  • History of developing client relationships and fostering business development opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Highly Preferred:

  • Strong Market Access domain knowledge/expertise (i.e. industry publications, conference speaking, etc.) Str
  • Advanced degree in business (e.g., MBA) from a top tier program
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills
  • PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
  • Ability to own deliverables
  • Demonstrated interest in Life Sciences ecosystem strategic challenges, e.g. medical, pharmaceutical, health care delivery or insurance, regulatory, policy issues
  • Demonstrates consistent career progression with increasing levels of responsibility; performed above expectations in professional roles
  • Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including quantitative, statistical or medical/pharmacy research interest
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team building and communication skills
  • Outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Live within commuting distance to one of Deloitte's consulting offices

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $203,400 to $339,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
