Work you'll do
As a Data Science Portfolio Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our client's data science products and projects. You will be responsible for defining and communicating a clear vision across the portfolio, creating and managing delivery roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring efficient and impactful product development and delivery in a Cloud environment. In this role, you will support all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions to the development of functional requirements. Your expertise in agile backlog management, user research, data-driven decision-making, risk and dependency management, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence team members and stakeholders through a compelling product vision and data are essential for driving our client's product optimization and growth. You are a self-starter, always looking for ways to bridge the gap between isolated products and teams, and bring mission value to more users. You drive conversations with key government personnel and are adept at building powerful relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Work with Product Managers to define and communicate clear product visions for our client's software products, aligning with user needs and business objectives.
- Partner with government product owners and lead multiple product teams of ~7-8 FTEs.
- Work closely with software development teams to ensure successful product releases in secure Government Cloud environments, primarily AWS.
- Participate in technical and non-technical conversations with partners (internal and external) to contribute and track details throughout those discussions. This includes leading technical exchanges i.e. product demos (which can include external or interagency counterparts), coordinating feedback, and driving multiple agencies to consensus.
- Document how the custom application will address the end users' pain points
- Proficiently manage backlogs, including Epic, Feature, and User Story development and refinement.
- Leverage tools such as Confluence and Jira to facilitate efficient product management.
- Manage risks and dependencies effectively in a software development context.

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required
- 4+ years of experience in Data Science, preferably in a management capacity
- 4+ years of experience in Cloud environments, including AWS
- 4+ years of experience with Confluence and Jira, with a focus on backlog management, including Epic, Feature, User Story development, and refinement
- Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days/week in Washington DC area
Preferred:
- Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycle.
- Familiarity and experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data and metrics to make informed product decisions.
- Expertise in risk and dependency management in a software development context.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience influencing team members and stakeholders through a compelling product vision and data.
- Cloud budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Relevant certifications i.e. SAFe, PMP, AWS
