Position Summary

As part of our Professional Services team, you will play a pivotal role in defining new lab informatics products and delivering them at our Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical clients. This role involves collaborating with clients and internal product teams to build new capabilities for our clients. Leveraging your extensive experience working with life science organizations, you will impact business processes related to drug discovery, including workflows, key activities, inputs, outputs, and interdependencies across scientific labs. You and your team will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, from collaborating with client stakeholders and internal teams to delivering advanced lab informatics solutions for our life science clients.

This role is aligned with our ConvergeHEALTH business, serving Deloitte's Life Sciences Sector by advancing research and development initiatives. ConvergeHEALTH is dedicated to creating digitally connected ecosystems through robust analytics platforms, immersive experiences, strategic industry partnerships, and premier consulting services, all with the unified vision of centering healthcare around patient needs. A key emphasis is on the Lab of the Future product, which aims to revolutionize laboratory environments by enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and innovation, thereby driving significant advancements in research and development.

Work you'll do

Client Delivery:

  • As a Services Specialist, you will utilize your extensive experience in research informatics within the life science and R&D to build and deliver lab informatics solutions to pharmaceutical clients that enhance data management, integration, and analysis in lab environments.
  • Work closely with client teams to understand user needs and discern broader market requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between client stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Translate high-level concepts into actionable requirements, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Ensure that requirements are clearly documented and understood by both the client and the engineering teams.
  • Develop and execute project plans, including timelines and risk mitigating strategies.
  • Analyze and improve lab workflows, leveraging your experience in wet labs, dry labs, or life science organizations to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Work with multi-functional and multi-geography team across the project lifecycle, from market and strategic planning to requirements identification and design, to engineering and execution.
  • Hands-on involvement in delivering with early-stage clients to ensure the successful implementation, adoption, and long-term support of our product.
  • Lead the development of marketing collaterals such as presentations, sales tools, and product demonstrations to drive sales and customer adoption
  • Client training - support on-site product trainings for client end users following application go-live, as well as subsequent version release trainings, and training of new client end users as identified on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to travel up to 80% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Product Support:

  • Engage with clients to gather comprehensive requirements for lab informatics solutions and relay these insights to the product team for feature development within the lab informatics solution
  • Extensive experience in Agile SDLC methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and enhance R&D lab informatics solution
  • Using your experience with lab informatics solution, act as a key contributor to product design - in particular ensuring client feedback is reflected in product roadmap

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a relevant field - Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field from a top-tier university
  • 5+ years of experience in lab informatics consulting project delivery or related roles
  • Hands-on experience with LIMS, ELN, or other lab informatics platform
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory workflows and instrumentation
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in client facing environment
  • Experience in Agile SDLC methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and enhance R&D lab informatics solution.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience crafting impactful PowerPoint presentations, tailoring communication to your audience, comfort facilitating large working sessions, etc.
  • Proven ability to successfully partner with internal stakeholders from various parts of the organization and drive successful outcomes
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,325 to $188,875.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
