Supporting a Defense client's senior leaders and its subordinate component organizations in Hawaii, our work has high visibility where you will have an opportunity to interact with senior leaders and have a direct and measurable impact on the mission. As a Strategic Communications Specialist, you will be part of a fast-paced team that will develop and implement communications strategies for senior Defense leaders. A Communications Specialist:

  • Supports the implementation of communications, outreach, and public affairs with stakeholders, including other government agencies, foreign partners, private sector entities, and the pubic.
  • Supports the implementation of communication strategies to harmonize key themes, messaging, and actions across multiple media formats, including as digital, print, and social media.
  • Supports media relations engagements, monitor media relationships, and support the development of content to be distributed throughout various media channels.

Our team works with agencies to transform, elevate, and modernize constituent-government experiences. GPS AM&C creates brands, develops content, and implements best-in-class marketing strategies to inspire engagement, influence behavior, and drive adoption across the country.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience creating communications products, writing across multiple channels and targeting various audiences.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to be onsite 100% of the time in Honolulu, Hawaii; This is an on-site role. Travelers are not accepted for this position.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve (travel not expected for this particular role).

Preferred:

  • Government Consulting Experience
  • DoD communications experience highly desired
  • Understanding of Government and DoD style guides
  • Knowledge of National Disclosure Policy (NDP) policies and guidelines
  • Experience designing web content or user interface components from concept phase through final deployment
  • Experience supporting change management initiatives in a communications-based role
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite software (preferably both Photoshop and Illustrator)

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Hawaii, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Hawaii and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,950 to $208,250.
