The Team
We help organizations in their efforts to achieve regulatory and legal compliance and transform their departments to add greater value to the business. And we combine highly specialized skills in discovery and data management, corporate investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and anti-fraud with financial acumen and advanced analytics to produce transformative insights.
Work You'll do
A Collateral Margin & Accounting Project Associate 6 is responsible for managing the collateral margin processes, ensuring accurate accounting of collateral transactions, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Managing daily margin calls with external clients and Central Counterparty Clearing Houses (CCPs) in accordance with all rules and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures
- Coordinating cash and collateral allocations between clients and various settlement locations such as banks, brokers, and CCPs
- Accounting for collateral transactions in accordance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
- Conducting research and resolving breaks regarding client settlements, transfers, and journal entries
- Performing top day bank reconciliations to ensure margins are booked and settlements and origin transfers are settled at the bank
- Resolving collateral disputes and discrepancies with counterparties
- Leveraging quantitative and analytical skills to identify control improvement and process flow
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience working in collateral management, margin management, accounting, financial services, banking, or asset management
- Experience in broker-dealers' operations, including collateral monitoring, clearance and settlement, and margin operations
- Experience in portfolio reconciliation operations, collateral management operations or other middle office operations
- Knowledge of Capital Markets & OTC Derivatives (i.e., Investment Banking, including OTC product, process and system knowledge)
- Effective communication skills for liaising with counterparties and internal stakeholders (i.e., middle offices, marketers, traders, credit, compliance and legal).
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Bloomberg, Reuters)
- Experience in leading or participating in cross-functional teams
- Ability to be on-call during off-business hours
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at anytime in the future.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to define business requirements, analyze processes, prepare data, and deploy solutions to enhance operational efficiency and drive business outcomes
- Knowledge of financial technology platforms and emerging technologies in finance
- Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Basel III, and other relevant financial regulations
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or equivalent
- Experience in collateral management systems (e.g., Calypso, Murex)
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM)

This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Jersey City NJ, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York state, Washington DC, and Washington state and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,578 to 140,963.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
